I'm not saying you're wrong at all, I just feel like accepting it's name is accepting it which I don't like too much silly

Just like I like to separate proper dead angles from the type that just go through shields cus you move your character 45 degrees happy

Well I'm not sure how it works, but if it has a name it be because that is the name of the file associated with it? I know there are things like Gwynevere's Talisman which were intentionally put into the game but then taken out last minute. Hopefully these extra months for DkSII will allow the developers to fully remove features like God Mode and broken spells.

It's called Ancient Pulse, and it's not because of any file name associated with it, it's just what it got called once someone found it in the files.

It's assumed it was a test version of Karmic Justice, one the devs could proc on demand to test it's damage, knockback, etc without having to try and activate it.

Someone found it and attuned it, called it Ancient Pulse.

God I hope that DaSII has some form of hack detectection and that a zero strike policy is enforced, I would love to see these useless c***s get their PSN/XBL/GFWL accounts locked.
It would stop the hacks pretty quick.

i actually heard that from was doing some search and destroy stuff against hackers and mulers (mulers because mule files have not hack protections on them being already hacked.)

seriously though why do none of the hackers do things like summon the gaping dragon and have it attack invaders or switch their character models with those of other enemies

Phoenix Rising wrote:I've noticed a completely different trend. Although the infinite hp hackers are still there, the majority of them have started doing "smart" hacking. Bumping their stats, but not to max. Wearing one piece of hacked armor instead of a whole set. This is still noticeable to the trained eye, and the hacker will make excuses when called out on it. (I have 85 vit....I have the steel protection ring on....etc) They haven't gone away, they're just more difficult to spot.
I have seen the hacker rate drop, sadly, so did the player rate in general. Certain times of day there is no one playing. As for smart hackers, you sure the'yre not just several hundred levels over you? I know their hacked when I hit them 7-8 times with a two handed axe and still no poise break, but I have thought a guy was hacking after multiple invasions due to my weapon doing ridiculously low damage in addition to him having an insurmountable amount of hp on top of that, only to find that after I knock him off a cliff later I got several hundred thousand souls 0_0. It's easier to tell when your the host at lower ranges because if the person invades you they have to be near your level thus capping their armor and hp.

I did find one away from his console earlier yesterday in the catacombs. I hit him 5 or 6 times for no damage, realised he was invulnerable and proceeded to kick him to the most secluded corner I could find and then off a cliff big grin

The main reason for that is that a lot of the hackers are running pre-made hacks and mods, most of them don't have actually have that good of an understanding of programming language and such.

    And on that note.

Hacking is a relatively new toy for the children on the PS3, so I guess the novelty hasn't worn off yet silly
This is also probably why I've yet to discover a hacker(as far as I'm aware). It may just be because the most noticeable hack would be infinite hp, and I've yet to witness this. They may have been using hacks that I didn't notice or know of.

It's a bit to tricky to spot them as a red invader, if they're at least a little smart. If they mod stats to the point where they're <50 levels where they should be, then it'll be hard discriminating them from just a high level player you happened to invade. Luckily, most hackers are morons and make it painfully obvious. I still have yet to run into a hacker, although I did run into some jerk using divine blessings.

I'd say it's certain they were hacked, but they might've been gifted. Before the advent of hacking some guy gave me a +15 crystal greatsword and I was just like "Wtf is ?WeaponName?"

A huge issue with hackers is that they like to spread their mischief by "gifting."

I don't really mind when a hacker kills me, most of the time I find it more amusing than annoying when someone with infinite hp needs to spam DB so that my bleed doesn't kill him or when they give me things as a pitiful way of spreading their as you said mischief but the biggest problem in my opinion is when they make items that literally break your game.

Example I once saw a group of forest gankers that dropped a lot of Dragon Torso Stone around the forest after picking one of them up and returning back to my world after they killed me i was unable to pick my blood stains up, unable to use the bonfire, unable to drop items and do many different things. This is something that really annoys me.
