Kamina cosplay (advice please?)

I decided to cosplay Kamina, here's what I have so far

My plan is to kill the Undead Merchant Male early and use his Uchi until I can get the Washing Pole (which shouldn't be too long; all I have to do is farm souls for the Crest)
Advice and suggestions are welcome, as this is my first cosplay build.

I'd say the best armor would be Pyro legs/hands, and either Crimson Robes or Balder Armor for the chest. Both will cover the actual chest. Crimson Robes will look like more of a cape from the back, but Balder Armor actually HAS a red cape. To me the sword looks like a Chaos Blade, but I don't know the character or anime/game so a little insight might be helpful.

I decided to switch out for the Brigand Trousers since they're actually fairly close to Kamina's look and the Bandit starts with them, so there's some needless running around eliminated. I'm wearing the Bandit's gloves till I meet Solaire.

I just beat the Taurus Demon. I was surprised at how effective twohanded, shieldless bumrushing is in the early game, if you know the area. The Uchi is less powerful then the bandit's axe but about 1000 times more stylish.

Edit: Here is another picture that more accurately shows the length of Kamina's
sword. It's a long em-effer, not to be underestimated.

Kamina's sword is purportedly a Nodachi.

no clothes like the trap resort episode since there aren't any clothes in dark souls which would honour kamina's greatness. and a big katana like the washingpole. also i really like your trying to create a kamina cossplay.
