Weird invasion/co-op glitches/bugs/fails

I got 2 strange cases:
1. I once put my white soaptone sign down (as a Warrior of Sunlight) in the Kiln to help a friend, only to get the message that I am about to invade someone (in hollow form!). Turns out I invade said friend, appearing as a red phantom in the very same spot I put my white sign down, and we just shrugged in confusion. My friend then told me that it might be because he had betrayed the Sunlight covenant once in his playthrough (by leaving it, I assume) or killed Solaire pre-Izalith. In any case, neither expected that shenanigan.

2. Next up is me (once again as a sunbro) trying to help yet another player, who is in the Darkmoon covenant. For all the time I placed my sign in New Londo, he can always see it, but always fails to summon. Worse even, I get summoned by another host and he invades said host too. Later on, I end up invading my friend again, despite being unable to co-op. Needless to say, neither of us are amused.

Yeah, this happens every once and a while to people. Sometimes when you invade in the forest as a catbro you end up instead invading as a Darkwraith.

I can't say it's very common, but it does happen every once and a while.

it happened to me aswell. so far ive invaded players by white soapstone as a darkwraith and a spirit of vengeance.i was a chaos servant at that time. since this happened to me in the forest maybe i'll happen to invade as a forest hunter aswell. also i noticed you usually appear on the location of your summon sign. but i have appeared on what seemed to me random locations aswell.

It's certainly a dodgy glitch which seems to happen quite frequently for me on ps3.

I do most of my PvP as a forest hunter and perhaps in every 20th cat covenant ring invasion I get the message "being summoned to another world as phantom" and spawn as a white phantom in the places where you usually spawn as a blue invader.

One time I also invaded the forest as a spirit of vengeance with the cat ring and I've also invaded as a red phantom a few times with the ring.

Likewise I have invaded as a red phantom on several occasions after putting a white soapstone down.

Maybe we'll see a patch to address this soon?

it would be nice if it gets fixed, but i don't expect dark souls to be patched anymore..
