    Hi guys, just wanted to see what the favourite builds of all the forum goers were.


    I've been theorising a lot of builds lately, and at the end of the day have realised that nothing beats a solid Quality build for me, partly because I prefer fighting using melee but mostly because of the ability to easily change loadouts and completely change playstyles without making new characters.

    So let me know, what does everyone else like to use?

    EDIT: Keep in mind, they're just the typical archetypes listed above, a lot of people I know have very unique builds which aren't covered here. Vote other and let me know in the comments if you're one of those people!

    Battle-mages all the way. Dexterity and intelligence can wreck people. Ever seen someone shoot off a 45 dex Soul Spear? Very fast, and can spam out Soul Arrows non-stop. Add a buff to the mix and it all gets better.
    I usually switch the amount it is focused on, as in is my battle mage magic oriented, tanky, buff oriented, melee oriented, or something else? Love using all combos.

    Also, love to use faith tanks. Great club roll R1 with Sunlight blade is amazing.

    Lately I've been really enjoying playing and PvPing with the HUD off, so Pure Strength and Quality has been my favs, with a tad of dex thrown in too.

    Quality is boring, bland and elitist. Caster builds of any kinda are a lot more interesting.

    My overall favourite is also a Quality build. 28/40 is enough for me, although I would like to have 40/40, or even better 50/45, but there's only so much one can do on SL 100.

    With such a build, I can use most of the weapons in the game and switch them a lot, even during combat. Makes me wish I had more than two slots for weapons per hand sometimes. However, I like to mix some Pyros in there as well. Especially Black Flame to help me chip away Poise from tanks and Fire Tempest for ambushes and ganks.

    Another of my favourite builds is a pure Int, but instead of casting spells it relies mostly on MLGS. Perhaps it's a MLGS build then. big grin

    Those two are my top favourites, but since the MLGS build is vulnerable to GMB and roll bs fishers, I prefer my Quality. I also have a pure Str tank, which is also a lot of fun to play with, but it loses a lot of fights to laggy bs fishers, which makes me lose faith in the PvP, so I can use it only when I'm in a good mood.

    I used to love Dex/Pyro as well, but there's just so many of them I don't want to use it anymore.

    dex/magic hybrids are my favourite type of build. I just love the feel of being able to do magic and wield a nice medium size weapon at the same time.

    And they're also a versatile build that includes buffs and possible dual wielding combinations

    I personally go with Strength or Dexterity with most builds, but lately I've been making cosplays. Two notable examples are Black Iron Tarkus and Havel the Rock, which are pure Strength builds.

    I have a successful Intelligence/Dexterity build, but the latter needs to be 40 for maximum efficiency. It's currently level 85, so it'll bring it to level 100 when I'm done.

    As for Faith or any kind of mix with Faith, I have no luck with them; I tried making one that was going to use the Crescent Axe and Santcus with the heavy Cleric armor along with Wrath of the Gods, Replenishment, Great Lightning Spear, and Great Heal. I kept dying over and over while trying to make some notion of progress.

    But to sum it up, my preference is melee weapons; Quality, pure Strength, or pure Dexterity doesn't matter to be as long as I get to swing something.

    I wouldn't call the Greatsword a pure strength weapon when it has a C scaling in Str and D in Dex. You need both to wield it.

    Of course we have lots of badasses on the wiki forums. But in general, people will choose dex or int/dex. I went with dex/pyro, since my first legit pvp build and probably most used build is just that. 23 att just for max speed-casting pyro-blasting power.

    Quality weapons are nice, but I really enjoy mobile strength builds. It's just so satisfying to match the aggression of someone using dexterity with a strength build, and out damage them completely.

    Of all the styles so far I like str/faith the most.  The hammers are nasty when buffed, and having access to WoG covers a weakness.  I also don't have to worry about farming humanity or resorting to cheating to heal as an invader which is a plus.

    After that, I like dex/pyro and base stat elemental + gouge just fine too, and appreciate the versatility of quality.  All of the builds can be fun to me, but I like str/faith the most.

    Of course builds make you badass! I get +14 to my badass level whenever I kill someone with my notched whip build. However, I also get -8 whenever I use black flame twice in a row.

    I feel the same way, it's so nice being able to menu swap whatever you want, when you want. I also reaaally like the crazy damage you can get with a composite bow with quality builds too.

    Don't know if I mentioned it earlier, but I'm making a 50str 40dex build atm. Couldn't get to 100 without being gimped so I'm going to 120 with less health than usual and seeing how it goes. I've never had 50 str before!

    Make it a mid-rolling Havel's GS wielding, tank of a build. thumbs up 
    The buff on Havel's GS is very useful, and you rarely see anyone use it.
