Help with dsfix Empty Help with dsfix

    Post by hitaro9 Tue Oct 01, 2013 12:34 am

Hey, posted this in the steam forums, but they're slow as balls, so I'll post it here as well.

So, I got the newest version of dsfix at some blog, metaclassofnil something something... and extracted all the files in to

    C:\Steam Games\steamapps\common\Dark Souls Prepare to Die Edition\DATA

But it hasn't really done anything. The game still has the mouse on the screen, moving the mouse around to look takes about 5 full swipes just to do 180 degrees, and its not even full screen.

I'm kinda retarded when it comes to computers. Can someone help?

    No worries, it quite simple.

Now that you have things where they should be, you should have a file in the DATA folder as well called DSfix.ini

Open that up and it will look like any old text document. But, it will have a large number of options that you change by simply changing the text.

Every option has an explanation on what it is, and how to change it. It's never more complicated than changing a 0, to a 1, 2, or 3. Just be sure to save the changes when you close it.

Don't be afraid to speak up if something's not quite right.

    Luck!

I now also have a problem with dsfix. I got version 2.2 from here as recommended on the PC gaming Wiki and Dark Souls will not run. When I disable the mod by renaming the .dll that comes with the file, it works again.

Does anybody have an idea what I did wrong and how to fix it? Because after a couple of weeks of fighting to get my controller to work I'm getting really, really tired of this.
