Damn, I just noticed my sig and I apologize. I thought I had added the MoV as an allie. I will fix that asap!!

Hugh, hows the sig project coming? No pressure...just wondering. And we gotta get together (the coves) and plan something(s) soon. I know there is a couple things you want to do...we should get our CM's/Captains and members together for a good "round table" brainstorm in chatango! twisted

That is an idea I will be glad to be involved in. Gives me something to do for boredom I have.

So i think i killed the kiln again. Over the past week ive gotten about 15 messages from people asking me to stop killing them.

In other news, i  stumbled across another part of the community: gamefaqs. Lots of players on that. I got invited to their permanent FC psn Chat, so now ill never have a shortage of practice partners to train with. Been working on my parries and have gotten reliably skilled at it.

Time is ticking down on Ear of the Weak.  I don't think I've officially voted for "Boom! Headshot!" yet, so I vote officially vote for Boom! Headshot! now.

I don't see any submissions for this week, so it looks like I won the first and Paragon will win the last.  Any ideas for replacing the space in post 4?

I want to help there hugh but I cant play much now. Also maybe we can make the ear of the week a MoV idea for all. Well my idea unless we get more members active in the cov.

That's a thought, i was thinking about doing that originally.  I dismissed it at the time, though and never really thought about it again.  I was considering doing a thread dedicated to it.  But, wasn't sure there'd be any interest (I hate it when I'm right).  On the other hand perhaps it'd be a neat recruiting tool, IDK.  Maybe it doesn't matter at this point and it's RIP Dark Souls, except for a few fanatics, trolls and hackers/modders.

I'm not sure, but as I said it was an experiment that I consider a failure as is.  I will think further on it and await more feedback and go from there with something similar or  entirely different.

it could work, but it might get a little chaotic with everyone posting. Maybe if u made it one submission per person it could work.

    EotW submission

I'm vading the burg with my velkas build 40dex40int, set-up for duels (no catalyst). I get a few nice duels, then i vade 2 gankers they hornet ring bs me, I'm dead, this happens again a bit later. Anyway a few vades later I get them again, I manage to run to the roof where the throwing thives are. The host is standing where you 1st see the wyvern with dgm and havels shield, and the phantom is coming up the ladder, I quickly swap my shield for the TCC, swap my back up weapon to a g.tracer now im looking for BDCR damn it's bb'd same with the crown of dusk, by this time the phantom is up the ladder, I avoid the bs he avoids my dark bead, but not the second, I pull out the tracer and let him have it, he is backing away all the time while the host spams the estus. He bleeds we both fall to the opposite side away from the host, boom plunging attack finish. I pop a hum, swap back to my shield and g.tracer for shotel. I meet the host in the small room, he can't swing his dgm three hits from the shotel and he's down.

Honestly at this point prehaps we should focus on small things and work on staying active till the new game starts. Still hoping it gets on PS4 so I can switch consoles.

Ok, so I got on ready to detonate the EotW program and I see we have a submission for this week already.  Or, should I consider it last week?  IDK... but, for know I can announce after tallying the votes that Paragon's "Boom! Headshot!" is the winner of week II.  Congrats to him and well done, here again is "Boom! Headshot!":

    Paragon wrote:
So as you can probably guess from the title, someone in this story is gonna get shot in the head... kind of self explanatory really but i digress.

Anyway my story begins in the kiln, invading with my sl 122 Q build. The extra 2 levels are so i can equip at least one pyromancy. I initially planned to equip GC but for some reason I dont have Quelanna on this play thru, so I had to settle for regular combustion. I realized that while using a weapon like the bastard sword, alot of people will try to parry it. My reasoning was that if i end up fighting somebody who like to spam parry, i trick them into parrying so i can hit them with combustion. It doesnt do a whole lot of damage but it works in principle so once i get GC ill be doing more damage.

In addition to a pyromancy glove, plus 15 (no idea where I got it from since quelanna aint around on this playthrough) I also have a +15 composite bow for dealing with mages at a distance. This particular invadee was not a mage of any sort, but I had killed him handily already with a well timed riposte so i decided to mix it up on this second invasion. I would hit him with my sword, combustion, arrows, firebombs, and kicks to keep the fight lively.

As our battle neared its end, I was at the halfway point of my health bar and so decided to finish him with an arrow. So i pulled out my composite bow but instead of locking on to him i accidentally went to manual aim mode. I almost panicked as he ran towards me with his scythe but instead of backing out and dodging I decided to risk taking the hit and so loosed my arrow.

What happened next I had not seen occur in a long time. As everyone knows when you land a headshot on your opponent they stumble backwards regardless of how much poise they have. In this case the headshot was also the killing blow and so instead of simply staggering backwards and falling down, my opponent with an arrow now lodged firmly in his skull spun around forcefully as if he had been slapped silly and fell to the ground with a most comical "flop."

The resulting laughter almost brought me to tears. Tho rather than laughing at my opponents misfortune, rather i laughed at how silly and inane the developers had made this particular animation and at how out of place it seemed in a game so incontrovertibly dark in nature.

@Soris; the idea for EotW was to encourage people to be more active Darkmooning and in the thread.  Like I said, I'm open for ideas and suggestions.

And unless anyone has any strenuous objections; I'm going to consider Robs' submission as a last minute week 3 submission rather than a first minute week 4 submission.  That way we'll have a winner for week 3 and we can start fresh for week 4 and re-access the status of EotW next week.

Yeah, Shadowz; the exiled are eligible for EotW as well.  Please feel free to submit!  The only stipulation is that they must truly be ears that were earned as a Darkmoon.

Forest Hunter does count as blue, but it does not count as Darkmoon or acquiring an ear.  You must use the blue-eye orb or darkmoon covenant ring and wait impatiently like the rest of us non-casual invaders.  Kappa on the last part only.

So school starts up again for me soon. When it does, i wont be able to take my ps3 or my 360 with me so there will be little to no activity from me in-game.

I will however check in here frequently and be ready and willing to give advice and support to my fellow MoV's. This extends to our allies the Exiled, if anybody wants advice on invading in the kiln or invading low-traffic questing areas then im your guy.

O well speaking of advice i could use a little its how do you deal with turtle players. I invaded a guy in black knight armor with an artoris great shield, and the whole fight was him keeping his dam shield up and circling me. The whole fight was extremely boring and time consuming.

Don't forget dung pies; I find inflicting toxin and poison very useful.  It does serious damage over time and forces the turtle to fight, stop to heal and/or use moss, or die.   Follow it up with Lloyd's as well and be ready to pounce on an opening.  If that doesn't work or isn't viable; show them how annoying they are.  Refuse to engage, turtle, walk away, wave your shield, gesture...  most people can be drawn out eventually.  Recently, though I did have a guy who was trying to lure me into the Darkmoon bonfire room to get BSed by a hiding phantom actually challenge the boss instead of fight me fairly 2v1 (seriously).
