    Soul Parking Empty Soul Parking

Post by twigsterxd Sat Jul 27, 2013 10:30 am

I was reading another thread and the OP got me thinking about this cause of something he said.
Can you park your souls like you can in Demons? Never thought about it before and not sure if I want to test it.
Hoping they incorporate that in DkS2

In Demon Souls, you can park your souls by dying, (usually nexus suicide), and play as a phantom. Each time you revive, you collect your stain and suicide again.

If you die, your souls and soft humanity will be inside a green stain close to the place you died.
If this is what you mean by parking, then yes, it's possible. But should you die again before picking up your stain, then they are gone.

Sort of Waffle. Parking souls in Demons lets you play as a phantom without losing any souls to an invader if killed, or, if you died as a phantom, you don't lose your stain. You could die a dozen times in a stage as long as you haven't revived then suicide before grabbing your stain. I was wondering if it worked in DkS as well. Leave your stain somewhere, play as a phantom and if you died as a phantom, do you lose your stain or is it still there?

In Dark Souls, if you die as a phantom, you do not lose your souls or humanity; you revive at a bonfire. If you're successful in a boss fight as a phantom, you return to where you were in your world before being summoned. I'm not sure where you revive if you use the black crystal to return to your world.

Red Souls Signs are different, though. If you die as a phantom, I think you have to go to the same location in your world to collect your stuff.

I think the only way to do this is die so your souls/humanity are left behind in a stain, then always keep on a Rinf of Sacrifice. Every time it breaks, you put on a new one.
I dunno. Otherwise it doesn't seem possible, or useful really silly

This, but then you actually don't need to die and leave your bloodstain somewhere. Just buy a ton of ring of sacrifices and you should be safe. Works wonders with BoC

It's possible yes, but much more difficult in Dark Souls than in Demon's Souls. This is because this relies on you always having a central safe zone that you start playing from. In Demon's Souls you had the Nexus. No matter what you did you could guarantee your bloodstain to be there and easily retrievable. In Dark Souls you have progression through areas without always being able to return to a central location. In order for this to work in Dark Souls, you would have to only ever work with a single bonfire and never rest at any others, lest you lose your guaranteed safety of return.
