Don't be quick to judge people stupid, what's stupid to you may not be to others and vice versa. You might do or believe things that are stupid to others. There's many forms of stupidity, for example i worked with a guy who'd a master degree in electronics and another degree in aeronautics and he was quiet possibly the thickest git i've bumped into.

Re: A rant on stupid people
I think there are stupid things that are blatantly obvious.
For instance TWoD. It's the Tranquil Walk of Peace with a glitch that damages while its in effect for anyone that doesn't know.
Its more than stupid, its beyond stupidity, its even worse than some hacks.
It's something that could use a patch for sure.

Fair enough... But, a persons stupidity should not affect other peoples lives.

Impossible. One cannot help that their actions affect others beyond them, and in the broadest possible sense, all actions affect people other than ones self.Teh Kitten´s Cat wrote:AnCapaillMor wrote:Don't be quick to judge people stupid, what's stupid to you may not be to others and vice versa. Thats like saying "we should be able to eat without something dieng (or being denied the potential to live.) It just cannot happen. The amount of energy (nutrients) on earth is limited, and all energy one takes in denies others the possibility of using that same energy (at least for a time)

I don't even know what that is supposed to mean pirate.
Stupid is relative, and if that relative understanding is that a person is stupid because they argue for the sake of arguing, show a complete lack of disregard for someone else's opinion, or are "stupidly" acting in a way that is outside of what is considered polite and RIGHT, then ya...I agree with kitty 100%.

Re: A rant on stupid people
My point was, peoples stupidity is bound to affect others beyond the individual. The person does not exsist in a vaccum, so their actions affect others. They cannot control this, it simply is.
As I've said before, I can consider a car a cow, is it now true?
what is considered right, is not necessarily right, what is considered polite is not necessarily polite, and when we are dealing in the relm of facts, your opinion is worthless (as is mine, and everyone elses) in any instance where facts do not support it.

Re: A rant on stupid people
That's makes a little more sense, thank you.
I think what she meant though (not trying to put words in her mouth) is that when someone INTENTIONALLY knows their acts and/or acts are "stupid" but do them anyway knowing the impact they will have. I agree they shouldn't.
I also agree there is no way to stop it (everything effects something), but I think the sentiment that people should not act stupidly when knowing that it will negatively affect someone else is not practiced enough in society overall.

Re: A rant on stupid people
Well I would tend to agree, but that is my opinion.
I weigh the potential negative effects of my actions against the benifit (to me or others, depending) of my actions and act accordingly.

That was just what I mean, thank you for clearing it up.
Now, there is an inevitability (A very sad one indeed) that you will face stupidity in society.
I apologize that I caused confusion.

Re: A rant on stupid people
I've gotten quite tired of people trying lies or misdirection on me as if I myself am stupid. Not sure if everyone I know are horrible liars or if I can just smell the bull***t off of them.I wouldn't call it smart to keep trying to lie to someone who sees through it every single time.Yet these people are the thickest I've had the misfortune to meet.
The only way I could be less intelligent than anyone I've met so far is if stupid is as stupid does.I've made one or two obvious mistakes in my time.

Haha that show is such a troll show. It would be more accurately titled as "do you happen to still have memorized things that fifth graders are currently taught to the extent that you can answer better than talented individuals in that age group?"
I'm pretty weak on college content I don't use anymore, even if I was near the top (or in some cases, was the top) in my class at the time. After 8-10 years things start getting shaky.

Re: A rant on stupid people
To be fair, these things still have to be filtered through personal values (after all I cant go about using other peoples, because I'd have to spend all my time learining other peoples values.)Teh Kitten´s Cat wrote:Animaaal wrote:That's makes a little more sense, thank you.

This means that, because I value truth above most everything, even if I know it may be considered rude (by others, I don't consider the things I do rude) I'm obligated to tell/point out/try to find the truth, wether others like it or not.
This means, you can believe I'm being intentionally insulting or rude, when really I'm just telling the truth of the situation, as I see it, and you merely happen to be offended by it (which, btw, isn't my problem)

"Someone isn't stupid if they do stupid, only if they think stupid"
I had to learn this first hand .
And it cost me, a lot .
