The Mystery Killer? Empty The Mystery Killer?

    Post by dsg78gaming Wed Jul 24, 2013 5:56 am

Just uploaded this Video where due to a glitch in the Smough and Ornstein fight, I was killed by the area of effect left by Smough hammer after I killed Ornstein twice. Check it out:

    https://youtu.be/JPCSEwkAvcI

Just for fun wanted to put up a post to let people use there imaginations on what could have happened and maybe who else was there. Is it the area of effect or is the killer still out there..........

I've gotten hit from a mystery blow just like you have here, but mine was after both O&S were dead and my phantoms had returned home.

I started running to the elevator and got hit. Luckily, I didn't die from the blow, but it did take half my health away.

I saw this too recently as a phantom. Smough was dead and Orns was on the other side of the room. I started to move in the direction of the fight and was hit and knocked down twice. I've probably co-oped on O&S a hundred times, but only seen this happen recently.

Then again, Anor Londo is well known for weirdness as I almost always take mystery damage while running up and down the flying buttresses near the greatbow archers.

I think THAT damage is from hitting the sides / fencing the last quarter of that run .

I think that actualy it comes from running down and not fast rolling.
I did take damage when I tried to pick up the Hero Soul and there are no fences there.
Lately I switched to fast rolling (I did mid roll usually) and I didn't get that damage.

I've seen it too, there is something about that cutscene that doesn't wipe in process attacks immediately even though it resets the mobs.  I usually kill Smough first during coop, and fairly regularly will get stabbed sideways after the cutscene by an invisible Ornstein spear jab, even though the super version of him is now at the far end of the room.

Best glitch I've ever seen in that fight was when Super Ornstein impaled someone next to the big windows on the right side of the room, and then when he threw them to the ground he backstepped/clipped right through the window and fell.  The three of us stood around in the room for a good 2 minutes before he actually died and we got victory credit.

    Never seen that phantom damage.
Nice firestorm though. Ballsy and effective which is the best kind of ballsy.

As for the damage running down the flying buttresses maybe it's messed up game code assuming fall damage since you're descending at a fast pace. There are other steep descents in the game but that one is probably the longest, hence the damage with fast characters which I believe also happens to me.

Hopefully they are smoothing these glitches out now for ds2, they have plenty of time to get it right happy

Ha ha. I would love to have seen that. Poor Ornstein loses his best bud and gets kicked out a window on the same day. lol

It is the ghost of Ornstein who's soul has come back for sweet sweet revenge since he despises players with hyper mode.

    Easy one,

Gwendolyn is on the second story balcony picking you off using his "stealth bow".
