Re: is dark souls platinum worth it?
It just takes a bit of time that's really it, I'd say it's worth it if you have time that you want to spare to getting the platinum.
I myself, thought it was worth it.

Knight's honor is the worst one you'll deal with, I'm not going to lie it will take a while. However the miracles and spells aren't as hard and getting those upgrades aren't hard you just need to get to NG+ to get the slabs for them, unless if you plan on farming.

Re: is dark souls platinum worth it?
I'd help but I don't have access to my PS3 at the moment.
I'd try asking in the chatroom to see if anyone would help you with the knight's honor.

Re: is dark souls platinum worth it?
I thought it was worth it. It was also way less trouble than demon's. I barely had anything left to do after I killed Sif the third time. I'm a bit of a digital hoarder though so the gold serpent ring was generally on.

Re: is dark souls platinum worth it?
The last trophy I need is the Knight's Honor. I'm on the third cycle, but I just can't bring myself to kill Sif again. It's my soul level 55 toon for forum events, and I just don't want to get the trophy and go all the way back to where I actually wanna be...the forest...if you know what I mean.
I even had a bud give me Sif's soul the other day that I could use for the trophy, but I can't bring myself to do it. I went and killed Manus again already just so I could have the special cut scene right before I go get the damn trophy.
I think I'm gonna wait to platinum until DkS 2 comes out.
idk man, maybe I wont...but I'LL know I used that soul...but it doesn't matter....YES IT DOES ANIMAAAL......I'm torn.....

Re: is dark souls platinum worth it?
Pretty much what the jeesus guy said, but IMO its definately worth it. Takes some time to get knights honour like everyone has said but its a nice challenge to know you've completed.
Offline takes a bit of work, I got it in Anor Londo just before Pikachu and Snorlax, SL 134

Re: is dark souls platinum worth it?
Definitely worth it. Dark Souls is the only game in my library that has 100% trophy completion. Finding all the covenants, weapons and stuff - it's a journey to finding out all of what the game has to offer, which is in my opinion, an absolute necessity if you really like this game. Basically, its maximizing one's enjoyment of the game (although I can imagine others would find this too tedious to attempt). Game hours spent here are definitely not wasted.

Re: is dark souls platinum worth it?
Not really, over 2,000 hours in Dark SOuls, I have one character with 1,000 on them, still haven't gotten Knight's Honor and I probably never will. I strongly dislike farming, I wish it wasn't an achievement/trophy to farm. Frankly I wish trophies/achievements weren't even tied to the game, or if they were they were truly challenging things. Like, beat Ceaseless in an upfront fight. Beat every boss without summons. Defeat Gwyn at SL10 or under. Etc.

Interesting point there, I thought the farming thing was kinda extreme (I'm looking at YOU Channelers Trident) but I did like the idea of weapon collecting in the Knights Honor trophy. That being said I whole heartedly agree that the farming was overkill, and at the end of it all I found myself thinking it would have been much better if the trophy had encompassed multiple types of equipment--weapons, shields, rings, armor--but only the types that were pickups, not random drops.
In the case of random drops I think it would have been alot better to have a set break-point in the game, where the drop rate increased significantly in a similar way to the sack or the Symbol of Avarice after a certain number of playthroughs or after achieving some sort of challenge.
It could even be used as a way to introduce special run throughs of the game to the audience: so completing a run through under certain conditions would enable bonus features in later games. This mechanic would of course need to be tuned/balanced with regards to PVP, or maybe just reserved for PVE only with the extra features disabled when playing online.
EDIT: dem typos... >_>

Re: is dark souls platinum worth it?
Or simply, "Collect Ten Rare Items." Just ten, or maybe fifteen. Not needing to farm Ghostblade would be nice, while keeping all of them on one character. Three Playthroughs at least, with tons of farming for the drops of certain items which take a long time to drop, compared to just collecting ten. I just hate farming.
