One more thread for you signature! big grin

I never was a big Fun of assassin builds. But I must admit that I had a lot of fun with my chameleon build! Its amazing how many people you can trick with that spell! my favorite combo is chameleon with pyros, but mostly fire surge.

Sounds like fun not to mention it won't take long to make a level 50 build. (Takes 2 hours if you know what to do)

Next time I get bored from invading as a standard PVP player I'll have to make a good assassin build.

One would have to imagine that power within would be a worthy choice (pyro glove on right hand).  In some settings.  It's a shame shields are banned, else one could set up PW + sanctus + RTSR + Lingering Ring + chameleon and any host wandering past THAT before PW wears off is going to die, even the SL 120's would unless they're VIT gouged...I think even with elemental rapiers, let alone 40dex versions.  Still, hornet's not a bad substitute.  I don't think this needs SL 50 though.

I've hit well over 900 damage in the forest using the chaos rapier on my str build, with hornet and not RTSR.  With hornet + RTSR or RTSR + PW, you'll kill every non-PvP build anyway.  Something like this can invade anybody anywhere and would be a threat to everyone through most of a NG playthrough:

    http://mmdks.com/3715

I think hornet + RTSR on chaos rapier +5 with 10 humanity will be hitting for what, 1200-1500ish on a backstab?  PW would almost certainly kill but that would be a limited time thing so I like this better.

I know you don't like the bow, but it fits the assassin theme and gives one quick chance to finish off a runner before your mark escapes happy.  Most successful BS will kill outright with this though, at least until people start pumping into the 40-50+ vit range with good armor.

Ring swapping fog --> RTSR (swap RTSR after chameleon) might be more effective than hidden body.  I think hidden body makes noise when you cast it.

f*** dexterity, back street hit man ftw!, the hornet ring can be swapped for the fog ring or poise ring if you are discovered giving you 76 poise. also swap the dark hand for a chaos caestus, missed the no shield part at the beginning.

I have a lot of experience with hammers.  Even with hornet we're talking about 800-900 damage from this.  You could do more with a buff, but that lvl 10 build I made with the chaos rapier will actually do significantly more BS damage, and would do comparable even without RTSR silly.

Critical multipliers make a big difference.  If you insist on a STR build, IMO at least use the tried and truly hated large/great club type class lol.

said hammer experience is at lvl 100-120 I bet right? at lvl 40-50 this is enough to kill most people I've found unless im invading up, in which case I switch to a dgm and the poise ring for tank mode after the initial ambush. actually nvm this being an assassin, this would be a great forum event build to practice ring swapping on...

    How's that?

    I call it the TTTA

    The Tactical Trolling Toxic Assassin.

In the event that you goof up, all of a sudden, your useless assassin turns into a trolltastic toxic build, toxic with DST R2s, and then poison with pine resin Dagger and Poison Mist.

I have an assassin with 16 int for the sake of buffing with GMW.

I'm pretty sure GMW requires 15 int, not 16.  16 is for great heavy soul arrow IIRC (which, by the way, is absolutely brutal with crown of dusk + bellowing + RTSR).

Still even with oolacile ivory GMW is only a bit stronger than the resins, and probably can't match an elemental weapon unless you level up quite a bit.

Use a chaos rapier and there's no need to level dexterity.

You think a real assassin would be ok with an obnoxious "whoosh" or "Bzzat" every time they got a kill?  I have no respect for people who call themselves assassins and use elemental weapons.

It's totally more respectable to throw massed stat points into dex and otherwise play identically though winking.

27str great club assassin would be pretty funny.

REAL assassins can super hyper mode snipe with the sniper crossbow.  FTW.

Nay I say.  I dare say if you use thine elemental weapon you are making concessions on the STEALTH!

That is why real assassins don't use elemental weapons.  They use PW dragon roar dragon greatsword r2s to snipe fools.

I make a pretty crappy assassin by op's standard, since most of my hypotheical builds are all chaos knife related. Speaking of which, can someone answer this

Bandit knife or dagger? For a suitable assassin of course...

(I choose bandit knife cause they are the same expect bandit has higher crit. But just to make sure)
