annoying thing I've noticed.

Recently I've been invaded two times, where I can't see the invader, as in they are completely invisible. I'm wondering is this a new hack or a glitch. And how am I supposed to go about countering it?

Don't know if it's hacking or a glitch, happened to me once as an invader, the host's phantom was invisible.

It is a thing you can do with a save editor. They are litterally wearing nothing. The good thing about this is that they have no poise, since they have no armor and can't put wolf ring on, since the glow would reveal them. I suggest wide sweeping attacks and/or aoe spells. Just saving a dagger around can help, they will be stunned by it


EDIT: Can you lock onto them?

Stay locked on and swing.

Sounds like the only thing you can do.

If you can lock on to them and damage them, then it's lag.
This has been here from the beggining and it's not hack. It's a poorly made game.

If you can't damage them, no matter what, then it's a hack.

Simple way to tell these apart.

It isn't always a hack, I've actually done this before invading in the forest.  I won't explain how, but by *** with your internet connection you can basically invade without them registering you are there.  You can still get a message, but not visually appear.  Weapons won't hurt you, you can't be locked on, and they'll just be standing still.  Any damage you do to them will hurt them, and eventually you will fully connect, if you just hit them a bunch they'll die as soon as the connection smooths out.

Sometimes a message doesn't pop up for the person being invaded, so they just die out of nowhere and never receive an invasion message, but you still get souls, and are essentially unkillable unless you roll off a ledge.  It's the lowest of the low tactics, I felt bad just testing it out, I tried to balance it out by doing it in the forest but still.

So thats how players invade you in the forest without the message even showing up? Or is it a different effect of a similar glitch/internet connection exploit. It recently happened to me 3 times in a day were I got invaded but the message did not show up, together with that those players were also not on my players met list.

I also noticed it while invading in the forest and it was always the same player that did it. I invaded a host that just got into the forest, all the forest npcs were still there and he was summoning a phantom, as i invade another forest hunter invades. The other forest hunter gets killed by the host after we killed his phantom, then after 5 minutes I kill the host and out of nowhere another forest hunters shows up. That forest hunter sends me a message saying gg but he was not on my players met list either, and it happened twice with the same player.

I couldn't lock on to them, at least not from what I could tell. And from what I could tell, the host wasn't able to see them either.
