Fast Str weapon

Hi
I'm currently doing NG4, most of the time I was running around with Dragon Great Axe, Large Club and some other heavy hitters.

I'm currently looking for a lighter and faster weapon that can be enchanted (SLB), but since I have 50 str and 20 dex my options for fast weapons are limited. 

I'm not planning to pump any pints in Dex till I get my Faith up to 40-50 (33 at the moment).

What would you recommend?
I was thinking about Hand Axe, but i'm not sure if it can deal enough damage to be viable in NG4?

man serpent great sword has decent speed and the hand axe should deal great dps if u buff it with sunlight blade or darkmoon blade, buff ur damage 2 with power within for more dps if u like

You won't find much under 10units.

Like shadow said, Man Serpent is the best, I'd rate Butchers Knife up there for good quickish str weapons too (although it's only 426dmg at 40str so honestly you're better off with a Katana at 40dex).

Mace, Pickaxe, Battleaxe, and Reinforced Club are also alright for speed but lack a little damage, however they make up for this in being light.

Actually I just checked and they're all around Butchers Knife damage, wtf FROM, buff the Butchers Knife, sh*t weighs too much for that crappy damage.

Weight isn't an issue, I want speed  

I don't like katana and probably will be at ng6 by the time I start leveling dex.
I thought about MSGS, but as a great sword it's not that fast (you know falchion fast  )
I do use Great Lord Great Sword for quite some time, I geuss it wont be much different.


I did 
NG using r. mace and large club - so I don't want maces, r. clubs and such. 
NG+ using Great Lord Greatsword and Dragon king axe
NG++  same as NG+ and Crystal Demon Great Axe, Golem Axe
NG+++ halfway done using the same gear

I need to go to the merchant and buy H Axe and check but I tried Butcher knife and Battle Axe but their the same as Golem Axe I guess.

StiffNipples ( ) is right, those are all very good weapons.
I think that Hand Axe is the fastest Str weapon, but I'd probably go with a Mace, or Reinforced Club. Both are fast (when compared to other Str weapons) and can infinity stunlock. Not to mention that Reinforced Club has Bleed.

If hammers aren't you thing then Butcher Knife and Manserpent Greatsword are good bets. Both are faster than than the large weapons like Greataxe, or Great Club.

 Just started a strength pyro build using dual hand axes.  Sl13. Just finished depths, heading back to UDPARISH then catacombs.  Never used that axe but it is quick and devastates the invaders so far. Fast as heck too. Both are only +5 so can't wait to move them higher then buff one.

i did some speed tests. When looking at speed only it's a tie between hand axe and dargon bone fist. Have to farm some scales and visit Andre to upgrade both and compare damage.

Dragon Bone Fist can Shoryuken.

Hand axe is the best kept str build secret.

It really is a tough call which is better.

^farming for dragon scales sucks so is go hand axe

I use a chaos murakumo +5 and I love it. I don't know hoe many consider it a strength weapon (it may be more quality) but it's great. It's faster than most greatswords and it's easy to stunlock low poise builds.

I did use server for an hour or so. The delay before the first atack comes out is very annoying. I got hit during this pause quit often.

Your best bet is Hand Axe, there's probably nothing faster besides the Ghost Blades which are about as useful as an Artorias Greatsword's R2s.

Hand axe, mace, or pretty much anything you want that can be buffed.  With sunlight blade + PW you should have enough oomph for all new game iterations.  I started a str build today and just having PW boosting a mace puts up some pretty crazy numbers.  If I get it high enough in SL to run this combo I doubt I'd have much trouble vs bosses on any NG iteration, even the dreaded 4kings.
