I got a friend to drop me Calamity Ring in the Burg and I did a run with it.
It's not that much harder than any normal run, things just take a little longer.

It's not all that bad, just be careful when dodging attacks like you always are. I used it on NG+ and didn't have much trouble with anything aside from the Four Kings, Manus and strangely the hydra at Ash Lake.
