The Dried Finger and Summoning Empty The Dried Finger and Summoning

Post by BrotherBob Thu Jul 11, 2013 9:47 pm

Firstly, I know that the Dried Finger is used to make invasions more frequent. However, I'm wondering if it has any confirmed applications in summoning. I was recently conducting a trade with one other member of the forums. As I understood, continuously re-dropping one's sign can make summoning easier. However, I was cautioned not to do this by the other member. As soon as I started listening to them, they were able to almost immediately summon me. When I asked if they had used some sort of trick, they responded that they had used the Dried Finger. So, I'm wondering if the Dried Finger has similar effects to the Seek Guidance miracle. If it does, then I think it should probably go on the Wiki.

As far as I know, the longer the summon sign is placed, the more people it will connect to, because it continuously spreads among online players within the SL range in the location it has been placed in.

There should be a timer of sorts, that blocks invasions after you already got invaded. Dried Finger should reset this timer to allow next invasions without waiting.

It is possible that the Dried Finger somehow affects Red Summon Sign appearance as well, but I doubt it and never heard about it either.

Yeah, you're probably right. Perhaps, it was used more as a good luck charm than anything.
