Low-Level NG7+? Thoughts?

I believe that I must have heard about the idea from a youtube video first, though the uploader/commentor was talking about how this challenge would best be accomplished on a PC, since the game save could be edited. However, I had this fun little experience on PS3. I was SunBroing at SL7 to help out with the Taurus Demon, when I got summoned into some player's world. They were wearing a Sunlight Maggot, so I figured that they had used the Master Key to get some good gear and save the Taurus Demon for later. Since, I was using a rather powerful weapon, I was still one-shotting all of the Burg's Hollows, but somehow managed to fail to notice that I was doing noticeably less damage than usual. It wasn't until I got one-shotted by the Black Knight that i realized something was up. I got summoned again, and helped the host kill the Black Knight, Havel (one of the more tense fights this evening), and the Taurus Demon. I messaged the host afterwards, apologizing for the sloppy first performance, and he/she told me that they were doing an NG7+ run. So this got me thinking...

Has anyone here done a run on console like that, where you actually do a run through each of the NG's at a low level? What are your thoughts on it? Exciting? Boring? Tedious? Unrewarding? An unparalleled experience? I know that when I did 2000 damage to the Taurus and realized that that was only a third of his health, I got scared ****-less!

It's challenging definitely, so challaging that i'll put it off for a while, if it can be done on my xbox though That'd be great... (since my pc is disagreeing with me right now)

I saw this video of a commentator too, doing the same thing you mentioned, where he summons other player into his ng+7 world, and see how well they fare. It was so amusing i kinda want to try it

IMO, it would be a huge challenge, but it would get boring fast. You would be extremely defensive and your weapons would do piddly damage (making fights very drawn out). But, it would be a badge of honor.

I definitely think that doing it on PC would be definitely interesting, but I personally would run out of momentum if I had to try it on a console simply due to the fact that I'd have to go through six playthroughs first. The road to reach that NG would be tedious, not to mention the boss fights.

This was on the PS3.

I have a feeling that the player who summoned me felt similarly slightly sadistic. The first time through, I was summoned along with another player fully decked out in an unupgraded Thief's Set and a Scimitar. He was wrecked by the Armored Hollow and the two axe-wielding Hollows in the next room. The next time, the host summoned that same phantom. Again, the phantom did not fare very well.

Anyway, after we killed a very frighteningly-powerful Havel (it took quite a few backstabs even with his +15 Reinforced Club and my +3 Chaos Zweihander) he dropped a few Red titanite Chunks to help me get it up to +4. Definitely, one of my favourite co-op experiences.

I'm starting to wonder if this is becoming a "thing". I just got summoned again to the world of yet another player doing an SL1 NG7+ run.

Did you leave the Channeler alive? That would effectively make that mob of Hollows as powerful as if they were NG10+ (if it existed).

I just meant that if you had killed the Channeler beforehand, it would have decreased the challenge/fun.

Either that or because it catches people by surprise. They don't realize that they are about to get one-shotted until it actually happens. This afternoon, I've been summoned about 50 times, and helped defeat the Taurus Demon 42 times (according to my Humanity counter). I dies 6 times to Havel (I get paranoid and roll too early). The other 2 deaths were because I didn't realize I was in an NG7+ game until I rushed a mod and got my *** handed to me.

Rumor has it... there are a batch of saved files out there for the PS3 where every character begins with beginning equipment and weapons at ng7.

This may be what you are experiencing.

Granted, that I have met people doing legitimate multiple game low-level runs. But if they have just beginning level stuff at ng7, it's probably not earned.

I'm not in NG7 yet, but I'm close (check my sig). I got bored though, and haven't played in a while. Playing LBP2 instead at the moment. 

It doesn't really get harder after NG++, really. Everything 1-shots you. They just have a little bit more hp on later playthroughs. You might just as well play in hyper mode (=Red Tearstone Ring activated) the whole time.

@Dibsville: It is a bit hard to tell even if the host is using end-game gear. Since you can bypass the Taurus Demon, it could mean that the host just skipped some of the game's bosses with the Master Key until the end, and is now cleaning house. It could also mean that they are leaving the boss alive so that they can use the Burg for PvP/ganking.

@Green_Eagle: That definitely is something interesting. I've never really understood how to share save games, though.

Asylum Demon as a mage, maybe? Use Dark Beads at 16 int with Oolacile Ivory Catalyst, Red Tearstone Ring, Bellowing Dragoncrest Ring, Crown of Dusk and Power Within. Assuming you mean NG7 as a low level that is.
