Wow my luck on this toon

I swear there has to be a hidden luck stat somewhere in the games code, I've had characters that didn't get a Black Knight weapon until the Kiln, and others that had literally every Hollow drop a weapon up to the Taurus Demon.

I always have the SSR on hand to swap to immediately after beating a boss. I want to try this out too to see if it's the real GSR. I had some good luck today too. I always happen to get the BSS on characters that don't use it. The first time I wanted it I had to farm for 3 hours. Today I decided half-heartedly that I'd try to get it just 'cause I hadn't used it in a while. First try with only 10 humanity.

Damn, you are one lucky fella Dibs. I would love if SSR does effect luck/drop rate, I thought pretty much everything in Dark Souls had already been discovered...

Yeah, I know. I meant I didn't have GSR or anything else boosting my item find -- just the humanity.

regarding the SSR (increase in souls) I assume this works for bosses as well?
could you pull a sneaky (fighting the boss with your usual rings) as soon as the boss dies, switch onto the ring (as there is always about an 8 second or so delay before you get the souls)

does this work?

I've never even seen the trident drop. To get the platinum trophy I had to trade.

I had to farm my trident for about 3 hours in the Archives for my platinum -- that and the BSS are the hardest for me to get. It also probably didn't help that I didn't understand item find optimization at that time.

I find the Baller Swag Sword very easy to get. I usually get it on a toon before the gargoyles if I plan to have high dex later on. Just pop a humanity at the Undead Parish bonfire, kill the three balder knights in the church (two of them use the BSS), exit from the main entrance of the church, to the left there's another one with the BSS, then run to the bonfire.

I think I have around 4 BSS (still on my first playthrough) and at the time of beating the Balder Knights in the Parish I did not have any item discovery boost at all and only around 5 humanity..

Always been a very easy drop for me for some reason

I did get the Avarice symbol recently for the 1st time though after many playthroughs over the past few years with different toons etc..

Still also not got the trident!

I do have the Titanate Catch pole though which was also a first, never got the Ghost blade though, not fussed about that, Transient Curse all the way!

I am in New Londo Ruins, drained it and now trying to farm the DarkWraiths for whatever they drop and will do so for around 2 hours..

Clams in Crystal cave have been very, very generous, I got around 55 Twinkling and 35 Purging stones in less than an hour of farming them...
