    Theoretically speaking, if there was an event where players are only allowed to duel with their starting equipment/magic and SL, who would win?
    Theoretically speaking, what if the event allowed the usage of Throwing Knives and Firebombs?
    Theoretically speaking, what if there was a similar event that allowed the use of any un-upgaded gear/magic, but it must be with your starting SL?

    Theoretically, would anyone participate in such an event? Theoretically, of course.
    Theoretically speaking, what if all the theoretical things here...weren't theoretical? What if, theoretically, they were?

    Theoretically speaking, I think that the Knight would theoretically win. Theoretically. I'm theoretically guessing this because, theoretically, the Knight has a decent weapon, with a great moveset, with a good shield and decent armor. And if fire bombs and knives were allowed, the Knight, theoretically, wouldn't have too much of a problem with mid / long range. And, since he dominates close range, I think that he'd theoretically win.

    A theoretical event like that sounds really fun though. So long as everything can't be upgraded, and that you can't level up. Otherwise, I think the Pyromancer would have the edge in this theoretical battle.

    Also, if I theoretically had to pick a class that might do the worst (theoretically), I'd pick the Deprived. While the Club is ok, I wouldn't say that it outdoes any of the other melee weapons that the other classes have. And since the Plank Shield is awful, it's not leaving him with a whole lot of options. Since, theoretically, his only mode of attack besides using consumables is melee. And, if he's the worst at what he does, he isn't exactly theoretically 'strong'.

    I think hunter would win the basic starting class battle. Nothing can compete with the bow and some patience, sorc might stand a small chance with soul arrow... but I think the bow would win the day.

    Going to have to go with the Hunter. Shortsword has an excellent moveset, better than all but the Knight and Warrior, and also has the Bow.

    On a non sarcastic note, Bandit would have been the better choice than Deprived. Armour + better moveset. The Deprived is actually a great starting class because the Club breaks 53 poise per hit like a Greatsword, but the Bandit's Battle Axe also does that but ALSO has an extra attack, armour, and a 100% shield.


    Realistically, Deprived is up there for this choice.

    Well yes, both the Cleric and the Bandit are far superior than to the Deprived, considering they both do the same thing and more. Minus the humiliation of losing to them, of course.

    Knight has poise, the rest of them either don't have poise, or don't have enough poise, so the Knight has the best armor, a good weapon, one of the best starting shields, and fat roll is enough to dodge any ranged projectiles, and if he can have his own that just makes him stronger.

    Depends on if it's a free-for-all or a 1v1 tourney. Free-for-all would be hunter because while everyone is distracted he just runs far away and snipes the surviver. 1v1 would be the thief assuming their gameplay skills match their class, he could just dodge everything and constantly crit.

    Like many others, I voted for the Knight. The obvious reason being poise, and having a very solid weapon/shield combo.
    I'd love to participate in an event like this, and would not mind being a thief, theoretically speaking, of course. +1 to you, Sir.

    Thief with poison knives. Poison (IIRC the poison knives do 4hp/sec for some reason) them and then fish if they try to heal it.

    Seems like allowing firebombs would be unfair to the pyromancer unless he had an upgraded flame. And poise doesn't matter if you're backstabbed. And thief isn't going to be attacking directly anyway. Also maybe deprived should win since that's a more advanced class, it could be assumed that he will just dodge everything anyway.

    If you take all things into consideration either the hunter or sorcerer would come out on top since both have the ability to kill opponents from a distance and not allow others to attack. 
    Beyond that I believe it would be warrior due to a good shield and a poke attack.
    This is my personal opinion and based as if they were all fighting each-other in one on one fights and in the most try hard way possible.

    I assume that the thief has the skill to dodge the broadsword. And it also depends on whether they are players or npcs. Npcs would probably be the thief the burg parrying everything. Player-Controlled would end with either the Knight, Sorceror, or Hunter.

    Sorcerer's Soul Arrows are easily dodged, even the fat-rolling knight can dodge them, and the Hunter's arrows won't do anything to a character with a good shield.

    Once they're out of arrows, they have mediocre weapons with decent shields. The Shortsword is inferior to the Long and Broadsword in every aspect, and the dagger is only good with a good buff.

    The Longsword and the Broadsword are superior in all ways, and assuming the Hunter is only using 30 arrows since he only picks up 30 arrows in the Asylum, even the shields without 100% block wouldn't have too much trouble, especially if they can dodge them.

    And Cleric's Heal is worthless, the long cast time screams backstab me.

    Player controlled I still say thief.  They also have a target shield.

    AI controlled I'd either say Pyromancer or Cleric.

    You know they would roll into the fireballs and let the cleric heal. Shruglol
