I got myself Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen and totally love it so far. I'm not very far in the game, playing it on Hard Mode and taking my time, enjoying it.

Some time ago I met Selene and I totally want her clothes for my pawn. After some furious googling I found out that they're a reward for completing Speedrun Mode.

Here's the problem. I HATE speedruns and don't want to do it, no matter what. Especially since I haven't finished the game yet.

And so I'd like to ask someone who also has this amazing game, if they would be so kind and gift my pawn with Selene's Forest Tunic set.
I just reached Gran Soren, so I don't have much to offer in return. sad

Thank you in advance. Proper Bow

PS: I spam this message everywhere, because I couldn't find a DD dedicated forums anywhere but on GameFAQs.

Is the speed run the only way to get this set? If so you're out of luck with me.Two reasons: 1. I'm still on Dogma 1, 2. I, like you, hate speed runs. Wouldn't even do them on Mirror's Edge. If there's another way then when I get it, hopefully soon, I would totally pass that to you. sorry man. happy

I went looking for DD: Dark Arisen today in stores but didn't find it. Target didn't have it all and Best Buy had the base game only which was of no interest to me. sad

I want to get it I just wish it was for dl on the psn store. It looks like you have to buy the hardcopy with the original game for $40. I already paid $60 for the game when it came out I don't feel like dropping another $40 for dlc.

I've read that it is also a DLC, downloadable from Store. Strange...

Yes, The Forest Tunic Set is a reward for completing The Speedrun Mode under 100 minutes. Or so I've read on teh netz.

    Ok great...
First Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 40 bucks
then Dead Rising: Off the Record 40 bucks
and now Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen 40 bucks?

Capcom, i once believed in you, but now you killed Megaman....
    I hate you.....

the least they could do is make it a purchaseable item. i too hate speedruns. anything that puts a timer on my enjoyment...just seems like a negative concept to me.

im very strongly concidering darkarisen. i skipped dragons dogma for the price being to much for what i wanted, was going to wait for a sale dlc version. this looks like it. but i have to clear my backlog out a little first. i just wont be able to help you with that item, sorry.

I also skipped on the original Dragon's Dogma. I know Capcom and they did exactly as I expected. They released a ton of paid DLCs which would combined probably cost the same as the game, if not more. But unlike money hungry EA, Capcom is know to re-relase their games with all the additional content included. That's Dark Arisen.

This edition has every previously released DLC included, however, the DLC equipment has to be purchased, like everything else. It's very expensive, usually around 100-200k, but the good thing is that it's not worth it. It offers a good boost to a new player and his pawn, but after you reach the shop that sells it, you already have stuff better than these for only a fraction of their price. Those DLC things looks pretty cool though, I'll give them that. big grin

Anyway, there are two special game modes. Hard Mode and Speedrun Mode. Both give the player special equipment as a reward. I'm playing the game on Hard Mode now, because I reached level 40 on Normal and the game started to be way too easy. The Forest Tunic Set is a set of clothes worn by Selene (the girl looks like she escaped from Adams Family lol ). My pawn is a mage and I think this set of gear would look great on her, thus why I want it.

Some say that the speedrun can be done under 40 minutes, but I haven't finished the game yet and even if I did, I really don't want to play this mode. sad

    -Also on xbox.-

Well. If you do have to resort to Speedrunning to get it later, it's pretty easy to do once you get all the portcrystals set up. That being said, I'm really surprised no one on the DD Gamefaqs helped you. They're usually really good at that. That's how I got all my DLC equipment in vanilla DD.

If the owner of the Pawn's on your Friend List, they're free to use.

Also, depending on what class you/your pawn is playing, I could probably get you some items if you want. Namely weps.

Is there any advantage to staying Light or Very Light? I'm trying my damnedest to not go above Very Light and to only go Light when I absolutely can't help it. Is this is a wise choice or am I just making it harder/more complicated on myself striving for those encumbrances?

Trying to stay very light isn't needed. Just go for light. If you can help it stay out of average. But if you do hit average, don't worry about it. You need healing items and such anyway. Plus there're augments in the strider vocation that let you move faster anyway. Just avoid heavy and very heavy. You run out of stamina a lot faster at higher weight levels.

Both the fighter and strider classes have augments that let you move faster/carry less weight. Typically as a fighter/warrior type class you'll be in the light/average load if you stack your armor up. As a strider/ranger/assassin I've never had my burden over light save after a long looting run in the everfall.

    lol Pendant.

I wanted to bring your pawn to Bitterblack with me to get you some RC. And there're ghosts that'll perma-kill a pawn when they go down and sent them back to a rift. And she gets one hit by everything. So when i got to the ghosts I literally had to pick her up and carry her though the area. I just thought that was amusing. Especially since the other pawn I hired suffered that fate anyway.
