My point was, why summon me in sif's area to go to the other area. Once he sent me home he was stuck there, if invaded. If he wasn't invaded by the time he trekked from the hydra kill he could re-enter that area. But still my question is, what was the point? No summon signs in the other area?

If he killed butterfly he can't summon in that area for help with hydra. And then you can't go back and kill sif cause the fog walls are in the way.
Edit: If he summons you in the sif area, and you go kill the butterfly, will it let you in for the fight? Will you be sent home after?
