Dark souls 2 coming to Xbox One?

I just thought I'd post this because it caught my eye. Now I have been an xbox player for a little while now and I noticed on the dashboard they were advertising their E3 event. I watched the little commercial of the pages unfolding with all these game titles and such, now here is where the subject matter comes in. On one of those unfolding pages was Dark souls 2's cover art. So what's everyone's thoughts on this, would you prefer dark souls 2 to come to the new generation for to be more powerful, or not and just leave it on current consoles. Also what is your thought on why it's in the commercial, is it just to advertise the game, is it just because they wanted to put something there. What are your thoughts.

As far as the pic being in the commercial, it sounds like there's a decent chance it's going to be released, or at least ported to Xbox One. I wouldn't really have a clue though as I've been exclusively Sony since PS1.

With regards to whether I'd like it to come out on next-gen consoles, its a bit more complicated. First of all let me say I do plan on getting a launch PS4 as long as I have enough money (pretty likely, just saying lol), and I would really like to see Dark Souls 2 released on next-gen.
On the other hand, alot of launch titles for the PS3 were very dissappointing (I'm thinking Viking, Lair etc) and could have easily been released on PS2 and provided the same end product. Of course there were a few exceptions, like Heavenly Sword, god I loved that game.
My point is that in the rush to produce games for the next gen, producers have a habbit of promising alot and delivering very little at least in the early days. I'm aware that DkS2 has supposedly been confirmed for release later in 2014, I'm still sceptical as to whether From would have enough time to fully discover the limits of a new generation of console, and so the game would not be all it could be.

To sum up, while I would love to see a Souls game pushing the limits on a next-gen system, I just can't see DkS2 living up to my expectations for that so I'm actually hoping for a current-gen release with a next-gen port. Hopefully followed by a 4th Soul series game exclusively to next-gen consoles around Oct 2015/16, when the bugs have been worked out and producers have familiarised themselves with the latest generation of tech.

Ever since it was released that DKSII was being developed for the PC and ported to current gen consoles, in order that DEVs can ensure a smoother multi-platform foundation for the series, gamers have been speculating that the because the Next Gen hardware and architecture is so similar to pc hardware and architecture, it makes perfect sense for FROM to announce their new Souls game on next gen consoles as well.

Now, there's still no 'conformation' on this, but I think gamers can rest assured that we'll be seeing DKSII on XBOX ONE and PS4. I think this is a good thing, as long as they keep the core mechanics intact, as well as the brooding, slumbering darkness of it all. If DKSII sheds its hardcore appeal, so too will it shed it's hardcore fans.

Not sure if this is relevant, though before the 12 minute gameplay footage was revealed, gaming journalists had written that they'd seen footage f the gameplay and the graphical fidelity was 'comparable to Watch Dogs and Star Wars 1313'. Personally, while the graphics in the game play trailer were an improvement over DKS, in my opinion they weren't 'Watch Dogs' quality. So, it remains to be seen whether or not the demo we've all seen was taken from the current gen systems or the PC/Next Gen systems.

I sure can't wait t find out, though! Five more days until E3!

The teaser is for Xbox@ E3 so the Xbox 360 would have to be included of course,also i saw Halo 4 in there, and i doubt it would be a version of that game for the X1.

Bottom of line, i still don't think DkS2 will be available for next-gen systems

Why would you want to pay $120 for DkS2 when it's $60 for the same game on the PC or Xbox 360?

Ok why are you saying that next gen games will be $120? That's an insane price point that no one would ever pay.

Yea, a price hike of 2x like that wouldn't go so well. Some people would rather get the game for PS3/360 partly since it would cost less to get a game than a game & a game console. Also, not everyone would get the next gen consoles right away so the multiplayer would be less than older gen. I don't think FROM will bother with next gen anytime soon.

Love how you say Xbox one, even though the majority of people on this site are devoted to Playstation. Try to think about more than just yourself sometimes bud.

I said Xbox one because of how I found it. This thread could easily be renamed for the PS4. But I chose to stick with Xbox One because their E3 commercial is where I saw it.

My guess is that it will come out for the nextgen+pc, but i hope it will come to oldergen aswell. lets just wait the official word from E3.

If it's coming to next-gen consoles only and avoiding current gen then I'm likely going to have to migrate to the PC base. No way in heck I'll be able to afford a next-gen console for a loooooong time

I hope it doesn't come to xbox one, That console needs to fail so hard its an insult to gaming and if it works out it could forever change the standard of gaming ( Always on DRM, Used game fees, Kinect that spies on you that has to be always on or console doesn't work and so much more.)
