Split Screen Rapport

Okay. I suppose a Split screen mode, but it would not be a balanced split screen. Lets say that there could be a spell like undead rapport, but if another player has signed in, and has their controller set up, they can press start to take control of the undead until the time runs out, or the undead dies.

To clerify, I meant that the other player would assume the role of a raported undead, and fight for the player, not try and kill the player. If the other player does not press start, then it would just be like regular undead rapport.

Cant really word it any differently: terrible idea.
I have seen games try this in the past and it always ends up being a function that is either never used, is over powered, or is under powered

You guys need to realize that this thread is also made by the guy that wants lasers and jetpacks in Dark Souls II. I usually just ignore most of his posts because he's just a forum-****.

Don't think so John. If you bring back a hollow from the dead, it'll just be a hollow, not like it'll be suddenly dosile enough to control really

Finally Someone agrees with me! Ever since I got the game I wanted there to be a split screen mode. People say its a terrible Idea because it is a change from what they are used to, but when you think of it, it would actually be pretty badass. It would be a good idea if you wouldn't be completely limited while playing if you did it.

Good luck playing Dark Souls with half your screen, people can barely play it with a full screen.

This is a bad idea. It won't work with the games mechanic and would be considered broken. Also I tried the whole split screen thing before and that gives me bad headaches. I just want one screen to look at.

The only way I see you could improve on undead rapport is by letting you only control two at a time and make them follow you. I would also love to reanimate corpes instead of creeping up behind them and see the removal of the time limit you control them. It would be hilarious to see one host, three phantoms all with their pairs of hollows battling it out.

That would be interesting as well if you could control them, but I like the split screen Idea better because If you controlled them, it would leave your real self helpless. I suppose that would be more in the spirit of Dark Souls though.

Split screen isn't that bad though once you get used to it, and you wouldn't have to use the feature as it would be just for the undead rapport, and would only come into effect when player 2 pressed start.

It would be cool actually if they did not tell us about this and we had to stumble upon it by chance.

It wouldn't be broken unless they made it broken. Having it one way may not work, but having it another way would if you understand.

I had an idea like this but with a covenant system. You would invade as an enemy in the area you invaded, and in some cases could pick which enemy you wanted to invade as.

Here is my reasons it won't work.
1. You become a mob and are limited to ONLY use that mobs moves. You cannot use pyro or magic from your build.
2. If mob only has 100hp and can be killed within seconds, why bother trying to be one.
3. Invading as a mob would hurt peoples game because they know the moveset of the mobs and would be angry if a mob went hiding
4. Speed runners would have their game ruined cause they would have to stop tryin to find you.
5. Be stupid having split screen cause we would probably see where you are
6. If able to see invader that ruins the element of surprise
There's tons more but you get the point
