    Parry-Only Run Empty Parry-Only Run

I did this run quite awhile back and it's been one of my favourites ever since. Basically, you grab the Parrying Dagger early on and hope for the best.

    Rules:
-Your only source of defense must be from parrying.
    -No Shields
    -No dodging
-No buffs above Magic Weapon except Gold Pine Resin (I allowed this because farming the Giant Mushrooms without dodging is no easy feat)

You may use any weapons you please, as well as any armour and rings. Just remember that you can not dodge nor can you use shields. You have to rely completely on partials in order to beat this.

My build at the time I beat Gwyn
    Good luck.

Can we at least dodge enemies that we can't parry like the hydra?

You can Partial parry every source of damage in the game as far as I'm aware, so if you get the timing down hydra can be beat

There are "sweet spots" in the hydra fight where he cannot hit you. Use a crossbow in your right hand and take him down.

Or get the Seal of Artorias, go through the forest, stand on the ledge above hydra and pelt it with arrows until it dies.

The hardest part of the run is Sif. Took me days to beat him. Hydra is easy because you can just back up and move to the left slightly to avoid all his heads.

    No dodging whatsoever is allowed.

Even when you partial parry, you still take most of the damage don't you? Meaning you might as well slap on full giants/havels and just tank them.

Since you're not dodging, would it really matter what armour you're using?

Not dodging = taking hits = tanking = wearing good tank armour.

Seeing as you can't dodge: why wouldn't you wear the best armour you can? Hell, you might as well fat-roll (without the roll).

It doesn't really matter what armour you're wearing, I included that int the OP. As long as you're not dodging and not blocking, you're good to go.
Tanking the hits could work, but the point of the run was to block everything with partials.

But oh well, you could complete the run any way you want.

You need to know when to parry so that it's a partial. You need to know that both the parry and the partial consumes stamina, so missing the partial results in lost stamina for nothing. You have to know when to attack so you will have enough stamina to survive the next hit.

    Lots of grass.

Of course it would. Dibs. I love you, in that internet kind of way that shows you're endearing. But I swear sometimes I think you have a team of angry Rugby hooligans blocking sense from your head.

If you CANNOT dodge, and you CANNOT block, and your only way to Mitigate damage is with Partial parries, having better armor is KEY. Since partials "block" a certain percentage of the damage you *would* have taken, by wearing Giants/Havels ect. you reduce the amount of total damage you take, which in turn makes you take less damage when you partial parry.

    Less damage taken is better.

If we return to you CANNOT DODGE, being Fat or even over burden is fine since you're just gonna parry that fool anyway.

Yes, but you can still move around, and sprint to get out of the way of things. When I beat this run, I was offline, so running around and having no phantom damage was key to helping me survive. While I could not dodge, I can still sprint, which got me out of a ton of situations, one of them being Sif. I HAD to sprint away from his double spin, there was no way I could partial that without screwing myself over.
