"Cookie Cutter" Builds

I've had several people try to twop me, pointless because they normally just get killed anyways.

I remember before the patch, the troll tactic was TWoP, Fog Ring, and either WoGZ spammage, or BS spammage.

In a duel it's not so bad. In a 3v1, unless you have a couple WoGs attuned, it's guaranteed death (and, incidentally, pathetic).

My favourite counter to TwoP is a Riposte instant kill, though I only see it done by farmers and I always have a hornets ring equipped just for them.

See being really tanky I don't mind, but understand I'm going to go for a backstab if you do that. If my only choice is to hit your shield, get a parry off on a long spear that is breaking my poise, or backstabbing. I'm going to backstab. It's a way to punish people, just like if you use Avelyn at point for blank for a quick kill, I'm going to backstab you.

I don't think one should just backstab for everything, but there are times when it is a great punishment for people trying to do something that otherwise won't be overcome.

I don't mind TWOP. Mixed w/ WoG and it can be powerful, but I've never been caught up in it. It does suck when you get 3v1, but that's more a symptom of the 3v1 and not the spell. The reasons I don't mind it is it doesn't last long and it takes a long time to cast. I really don't see the issue w/ it any more than Great Magic Barrier or Silence, which are apparently not cheap, but have a similar effect to magic users as TWoP has on melee/dodgers.
