CoF Event: The Travels of the Cult - Event Over

Post by GrinTwist on Sat May 18, 2013 8:10 pm

Unlike other events this event will actually be a co-op with one other person of your choice. The event will start at the Undead Burg and will end at the Kiln of the First Flame.

    DAY OF THE EVENT
    12 AM June 8th to 11:59 PM June 15th

    The Travels of the Cult

    RULES
You will start at your beginning level and the max level you will be able to reach will be 75
You may have one partner throughout the event
All mandatory bosses must be killed
Gwyn needs to only die once
Shortcuts are allowed with the exception of the shortcut in the catacombs
    Mics are allowed
    DLC will not be included

Your WS must be placed at the nearest summoning location in the current level, where the exact location is can be decided by you and your partner. Also make sure that you do not put your WS right by the boss door either.

Also make sure to place your times when you and your partner have finished killing Gwyn. Picture evidence of this is heavily encouraged if you can provide it.

Everyone, including non-members of the covenant are allowed to participate, however ranks are only distributed to members of the Cult of Friendship.

Just post on the thread on whether you are joining in on the event or not.

    Ranks

Turns out this is a date I can work with. I could use a partner for this too.

The only thing I will regret of this, is that I can't use cirno.....Really the amount of things I have seen her in would have been perfect for this. I'll just go a warrior this time.

Even though I'm not a member of this cov, this event looks awesome (and is similar to one I'm designing out for the new SC cov... thought i'd got in the idea first silly )

If you guys need another body on PSN due to number issues, I'd be very happy to join you in attempting this happy

Wow, we got Serious Joy .

The only issue with having three People instead of Two would be Time, obvioulsy Res and I would be faster thatn you three since you have to beat every Boss three times .

So we could just have seperate ranks for trios and for duos happy

That's a good thought Marino. How would we apply that though? We'd need some sort of new expected maximum timer.

    You're doing threes too?

I was actually just devising a trio speed clear event with the new sunbro cov to kickstart us, i really got beat to the punch huh silly

Btw i think I should give you all fair warning- I'm gonna be really, really hungover/drunk during a lot of this event, so my play may be inhibited somewhat lol!

II can't stream myself, don't have the tech. But if my coop partner does then might be fun..

Just saying though that even while drunk/hungovver, my play will be very cold, efficient and boring. BS/parry through every level and spell storm the boss.. I can't promise it would be fun to watch silly

I don't know if we do trios, but why should we not ?

I don't even know if it's possible to beat the Game in 5 Hours in 2 Player Co-op, My Character is already at 01:12:43 and we only beat Taurus Demon so far .

All i did was go through the Valley of Drakes to get the Soap without killing a Boss, and the rest was waiting for my Sign to appear in his World and killing the Boss and vice versa ...

    It's most likely impossible, yes.

The actual gameplay should be counted, the waiting should not be included. It would be ok then, I imagine.

Yeah i was about to make a comment about the speed- 5 hours with 2 players.. That's pretty much just speed run in 2 people's worlds- not really possible if you have to spend time summoning...

I'd say make it 10 hours. I'm sure it's possible, but only absolute pros will be able to achieve that

That is if you base it off the time next to your character on the load screen

I've done the game in about.. 13 hours? That's my best.
I would most likely fail at this.

To complete the game in such time is not possible without spending a whole day straight playing. That is not possible as well as our lives will interrupt this from time to time. Unless there are traders who give ungraded stuff to people during this.

There are a few Problems with that though, i could just go and farm for Souls and make me a Fire Weapon to breeze through most of the Areas without punishment .

And how do we measure the Time ?
It's not a Problem for me and Res since he records it but still .

Right at the end, it has the time on the character select part of you. Go off that.

Count how much time is spent waiting with some kind of stopwatch. Subtract that from the time it says when you go on your character select.
