    2 schools of sorcery

Post by Johnthethird on Fri May 17, 2013 8:43 pm

I think that there should be 2 schools of sorcery in DS2, and they should be more definded as rivals. There should be the soul based sorcery, and the humanity based sorcery. There should be one covenant centered around each, and they should be at war with eachother.

I like the idea, but I think they should also have spells that are similar to the other school's, you know, to make it seem like they're trying to have the better version of some spells.

I don't see the point because magic and miracles are technically the same thing so we already have it anyway.

There is no miracle based school, though.
Also, miracles are bland. IMO, it would have been better to compare Oolacile to Vinheim.

I would not consider them the same thing as they use different tools, and they require different stats.

I am more going off the dark magic vs soul magic concept.

See I was thinking this, but hoping for a fire vs ice magic (since ice seems to be popular idea with people)

This would work well though i reckon.

Sounds a lot better than Dark Shool vs Soul School. You can do more with the Lunar School and Solar school too.

I know what you're going for but I don't see the point because in general the difference between magic and miracles is just perception (think about how Velka's talisman and Tin Moon catalyst work). If a casting tool like the talisman of beasts was put in, you've pretty much got what you want.

A Pure Faith Caster can OWN any Pure Int Caster out there. They are much more versatile, and a Sneak Attack SLS will hit harder than a Sneak Attack CSS.

I approve of this; We already have Dark fog and Pursuers around, which clash with Homing Missile and Poison Mist.

Also it could have items where you can only Invade enemy sorcerers/humanity users? Like someone who has high stats in that level? Would be interesting game play.
