I agree. Stockpile Thomas divided stuff by sub-categories, ex: helments, shields, ect., but the Box divided stuff only by categories, ex: weapons, armor, ect. It was a lot easier to find stuff with Thomas. The box made it seem like a needle in a haystack.

From, why did you make it worse?

I never played Demon's Souls so I can't give an in-depth comparison, but just by watching playthroughs I prefer its atmosphere over Dark's. It feels more desolate I think.
But the most surprising thing I learned about Demon's is that you can jump over ledges in it. Shrug

    dark
starting a new game is like starting on ng+
when in co op the host has 2 heal you, sucks if you trying to go hypered

    demon
    hyper mode was cooler
being able to heal instead of hoping host notices you're dying lol
ability to use soul suck to de level yourself or others
to add to thomas comment above; duping glitch
builds were easier to make cause you could get a good weapon fast

Theres also one that leads to a Penetrator Sword located before the Penetrator. Theres another ledge jump somewhere else in Boletaria Palace, but I can't remember where it's located.

Forgot about that one, there's another around that area that leads to a soul item, think it might be around where all the crossbow dudes are.

    Dark:
    plunge attacks
    jumping
    jumping attack
    kicking (shields open)
    ladders
    poise

    Demons:
    EVERYTHING else

thanks to the flickering i played again with a new toon PvE and it's so great, i just love it. Add the points from above to Demons and it's perfect. I even get pretty much PvP action while going through the worlds (eu version... in the asian version that wouldn't be uncommon, but in eu version it is).

No, there a few jumpable ledges in the Tower of Latria as well, that leads to some stones of ephemeral eyes, a mercury rapier and I think some soul itens. It is after you leave the prison and before the giant arrow machine.

Demons- greater variety in (albeit easier) bosses, longer levels, better unique weapons, more NPC interaction, boss souls from EVERY boss that could be used to make even spells

Dark- overall improvement on the gameplay, upgrade system, difficulty (another discussion and could be argued, but grass, health regen and resurrection from death were incredibly OP), open world, covenants

I'm gonna leave out obvious more weapons/armours/spells and stuff like fighting mechanics- they change every game.
