Skyrim DLCs....Need some Help! Empty Skyrim DLCs....Need some Help!

Post by Jester's Tears Sat May 18, 2013 8:18 am

So i'm planning on buying the DLCs for Skyrim.
I played it pretty much 24/7. But then i stopped, and now the urge is coming back.
Thing is, i can only buy one of them, I'M NOT GONNA BUY THE HEARTHFIRE DLC. So it's basically a pick between the Dragonborn DLC and the Dawnguard DLC.
I'm a bit intrested in Dragonborn, since it looks like it has the most content, but i'm not sure.

If you ask what type of character i use, It's an hybrid between Stealth and all out, balls to the walls Berserker. If that has anything to say.

    Sooo yeahh...Suggestions?
I want stuff to do, more armor/weapons etc. MAKE ME WASTE MY MONEEYYYY!
(In case someone has already made a post about the DLCs 'n stuff. Sorry silly )

Judging by your character,I'd say Dawnguard. The vampire lord mixes the existing vampire's stealth advantages with the ability to turn into a big friggin monster and rip everyone's throat out.

Pretty much what Dawnguard adds is the vampire lord, some new armour sets,a few crossbow types, two castles you could live in if you like roleplaying,a werewolf perk tree and a few unique areas to explore.

Dragonborn adds a new island, armour, the ability to ride a dragon(Not as cool as it sounds) and a new class of gear that looks as if it's made of ice.The DLC can be a good bit of nostalgia if you played Morrowind.

Dragonborn has more stuff to do, than Dawnguard, in my opinion. Other than the separate two sided choice you have to make between Vampires and Dawnguard.

Yeah, i was thinking about Dragonborn, since it has ''more'' content. Also. More Dragons.

I disagree about Dragonborn being a better choice. It may be a larger expansion but it leaves very little to play with once you are done. All you will have at the end are a few useless shouts, gear which doesn't look very good and a small house that requires multiple loads to get to.
Don't get me wrong,I played both Morrowind and the Bloodmoon expansion, the nostalgia is great but I never really want to go back to Solstheim.

Things aren't much better with Dawnguard either. You get dragonbone weapons, the ability to make arrows, crossbows, and 2 relatively useful shouts (one is useless). The only lasting things you get besides the gear and spells I just said with dawnguard are the werewolf perks, vampire lord form and auriel's bows abilities. Not enough to make you continue to play for long after you're done with everything. Also, even though there are technically two separete questlines where you have to choose which side to join, they are almost identical. And most of the locations you visit are from the vanilla game. Also, I think dragonborn has more lore and the quesline has a bigger scale.

    Dragonborn, all the way.

It has more to do, has a better story, has nostalgia, has pendants (Pendant, you're mad winking) and generally more content.

Dawnguard is good, but it lacks raw content. It had some fun parts, and some tedious parts. Mind you, so did Dragonborn.

Both have their good and bad but I would go with Dragonborn. I have the Dawnguard dlc, and while I like it, I find okay at best. The vampire thing is good but it has some issues and the raw content is few and I found some side quest would get glitched and be stuck.

I think you should pick the dragonborn DLC. It has a much less cliche storyline and is very unique, and for us morrowind junkies

What are you playing on, if pc, i'd wait as a steam sale will be on soon. If on console, i'd say dragon born too, much more to it.
