I haven't been playing this game consistently for a while now, but I have been playing it off and on, so my skills shouldn't be terribly rusty.

What do we say to the God of keeping-skills-intact? NOT TODAY.

I used to own the Burg, with a few exceptions for those who were like me but better.
Every crappy noob who employed forest tactics against me in a 1v1 setting had their arses handed to them on a shiny, cold steel platter. But today... today...

My skills are gone.

I can't cancel backstabs. The stupidest, noobiest tactics work on me. My mid-rolling skills are shot. I used to be able to parry katana on occasion. I can't now. GT spam always gets me. Dead-angling? Not anymore!

Now, that being said, here I am with a morning star and partizan. I'm also mid-rolling.
My opponents? Every one and their min/maxing, balder swag sword-using, backstabbing, poise-backstabbing, spell-spamming mother. Then comes along the few gems who wreck my tushy with set-ups like mine, and boy does THAT make me feel competent.

I would like... some help.

I've never been a min/maxer. I've never gone FULL HOLLOW. Never. But, I feel like now is the time to "pop the hollow cherry."

With it, please make me the most disgustingly min/maxed piece of you can think of. It would be beneficial to my stress, as I would like to enjoy myself with Dark Souls one last time before I disappear off the face of the Earth this Saturday.

Or you could laugh at my lack of skill, and move on. Either way works; after all, this is a flippin' game. But hey, I want to cut loose, and I need some help with that.

You're probably a little too bothered by some recent losses, don't let it get to you.

Though we all have to cut loose every once in a while, just run to the forest with a hornet ring and a large club.

I'm not brilliant at the whole tryhard douche build thing so gimme a while to think of one but I know what you mean about getting rusty.I'm not used to a lot of the games that I was great at and I hate it.I'm rather clumsy a lot of the time I play,I used to be graceful.

I am not used to making quality builds, and I did not wish to change the stats around too much, but here you go. May Gwyn have mercy on your soul, for using this I doubt there will be much left.

That build's easy to fight though, you just have to run away and wait until they die. My build lands one WoG and 99% of builds are dead because of tickstab, the remaining 1% take one or two pokes to finish off.

Meh, the build isn't suppose to be effective. Suppose to troll people due to how hard it is to kill, and the PW isn't for until Iron Flesh is gone. I love using it just to mess with people, even using the Havel shield buff, then doing gestures at them during the fight, laughing as they bounce off me. Usually they just go for a backstab before I can finish, but still, hilarious when their huge greatsword tings off your forehead.

I understand how bad a break can effect your abilities in game. I took a rather sizeable break for two months, and only now do I feel like I've gotten back to where I once was. Here is the build I figure will be best for you. The Halberd put the 40/40 to good use, and the rest of the choices really don't need much in way of explanation.

Make sure to have fun with game, whatever which way you play it. Doubly so if you aren't going to be doing for a while.

56 Poise to resist one hit from everything except the really hard stuff, halberd as a hard hitting weapon, crest shield as the imo best shield for pvp, black flame and great combustion to complement the whole setup. Composite bow is in there because it's too awesome not to use with a 40/40 build.

I forgot to mention that yesterday, while tinkering with a dual-katana no poise build... I DWGR flipped off a cliff and lost all of my humanity and my 13 million souls...

I think my confidence took a hit with that.

Well if you just want to win, here's a tryhard build any man can be proud/ashamed of. I wonder if it could be improved though.

The legend never dies .

Just power within lets you use pyro glove but not have to spend 300k leveling it. Short bow is really only useful if people run away or to finish people off; if you don't care about it you can drop the 41 endurance to 40 and your dex from 12 to 10...however with the weight limitations on this build it was the easiest ranged option to utilize and still keep mid roll (light crossbow would need 47 endurance or havels)

You can menu swap hawk ring to harass with the bow in the forest, but obviously the hornet ring is good for pivot, poise, and lollerlag stabbing people. If you pull that off with PW active it's ^_^.

You'll need to dead angle with this, and vs skillful players you might want to drop 2 points out of vit (or if you don't care about the bow, dex) and do some switch-great combustion on people who try to go for parrying. PW boosted GC hurts like crazy and you can even sneak on the bellowing ring if you don't think hornet will get you much in a given matchup.

Is this skillful? Nope, but that isn't what we're going for here .

the ring of fog lowers the range at which pursuers activates, plus it makes it harder for opponents to see dead angles coming.

Also, it helps that I, using Havel's Greatshield, toyed with a hacker for 20 minutes in the Burg. -1 hp, 2+ darkmoon blades, 30+ Sunlight Spears... holy hell. The dude sucked. I was on that drop-off area next to the hollow that rolls the barrel at you. He was too smart to try and drop-attack me, so after 15 minutes he summoned a phantom. The phantom had infinite divine blessings.
