    Good invasion spot and build?

Post by KrazykevS10 on Tue May 07, 2013 10:37 pm

I'm trying to kick my forest addiction but I've been there so long that I can't remember the good places and levels to invade at.
I'd also like a moderately creative build while you're at it.Try to make it level appropriate for invading and take note that I'm not big on magic or miracles.I'm willing to use some but I'd like a good weapon or two to fall back on.Bonus points for dual wielding. big grin

A classic problem is that in invading, the lower level you are the less people you will invade. So you could theoretically be any level you want in any place. Just when you hit 80 or 90 most all people you meet will be in New Game+. Then when you are 120 it would be best to hit dueling spots, like the Burg, Depths, Dukes Archives, Oolacile township, and of course the Kiln. If you want to do just random invasions, then you would want to be in the 40-50 range for Sen's Fortress, 40-60 for Anor Londo, 50-80 for Dukes Archives, and 50-90 for New Londo or Tomb of the Giants. Those are the ones I know of, but for me one of the best levels to be at is a level 50 just because of how often you invade. You can invade so often it is usually 10 seconds or less to find a person to invade. Don't know what the optimal build is for level 50 though. Still working that out myself. All I know is that fire most definitely works.

I'd like a decent level 50-80 build. It haven't done a proper invasion in months so I have no builds at all.
Trying to actually enjoy PVP again instead of dealing with the Call of Duty kids that hang out in the forest.

I like Call of Duty.... sad

But I see your point. I'd try to beat the game at whatever Level you want to be at. Then you can try to invade every spot without worry and see which one you like.

Build-wise, I suggest chaos and lightning. You most likely won't get to a high enough level to see impressive stat scaling, so things of that nature would be good. Crossbows can be good as well. And pyromancy takes care of those pesky gankers. And try to be at least a midroll. You won't be tanky enough at that point to easily kill people at a fat roll. Just don't fully level anything up until you are sure that is your weapon. Beating the game at level 50 is hard. Beating New Game+ at Level 50 so you can get more titanite Slabs? Good luck.

See the link in my sig. I did a complete tour of Lordran with my SL 6. I noted the SLs of all the hosts I killed. That might help you decide on a SL.

The Giants Tomb is pretty lively on my SL 50 invader. For the most part people are well equipped. I keep my Vitality at 15 to keep me on my toes.

I sometimes use this to invade AL and lord soul areas. ~SL60 I get a ton of action in the second half of duke's and the latter half(water drained) of New Londo

I used to have a very nice sl65 DW build and got loads of action in all the lord soul and DLC areas.

it sounds like you need a healthy dose of lvl100 burg duels. only form of pvp i can enjoy for hours. 80% are fun encounters with cool people. if you never tried a proper str build might i suggest my ogre build (my fav. build for the last 3month). best backup weapon is the man-serpent sword (one of the best greatswords) or go full fatty if you don't mind midrolling. great change of pace after only using dex weapons for such a long time
