Anybody else getting it? I was a huge fan of 2033 when it originally came out, and Last Light looks better in every way.

I will be.I always thought 2033 was a vastly under rated game.I've also read an English translation of the book,it was very good.

Metro 2033 was awesome, especially Ranger Mode
Also nsane, you can't blame THQ now, they gave Metro 2033 FREE even though they had FINANCIAL PROBLEMS!
And the free version came with ranger mode too

well its not an actual in game mode its just pre order DLC just like in Metro 2033 so people are getting pissed about nothing and if you dont get the pre order it will not in any way hinder you enjoyment in the game

I don't pre-order games because I have no reason to pre-order something that I have yet to play.

It was also a mode they developed then later cut from the game to sell as DLC and a Pre-order exclusive, which is an absolutely terrible business practice. So now I have no trust in the company, maybe the next Metro they'll work on business practices and I'll pick it up.

I'm going to have to agree with Angryjoe on the whole Ranger mode rant. Removing an entire mode from a game and making it as a preorder bonus is a horrible idea. I have no problem with preorder bonuses, as long as those bonuses do not remove from the game which this Ranger mode preorder does. The special gun and ammo I would have no problem with since you don't need it but it is bonus for those who preorder but removing an entire mode from the game and make it preorder is bad business.
Anymore I only like preorders that either give physical bonuses (for example Dark Souls tin case and small artbook along with the soundtrack), time exclusives (for example, Littlebigplanet 2, if you preordered you got certain DLC that was only for a limited time and have since been released for the rest of the community), or small DLC stuff that don't remove from the game and don't give any edges (for example Defiance, their were some weapon DLC that are pretty good but there are weapons in game that can do better then them and don't really give any form of edge over another player in the PvP side of things). Day 1 DLC is also terrible, removes from the game that could easily put into the game like ME3 From Ashes DLC, could of been in the game but they made it as Day 1 DLC which is wrong since it added to the story of the game.
That's just my little rant on preorder incentives and my opinion.

Agreed. A much better business practice would have been

"buy a new copy of our game and get the code for this DLC for free"

Those who like to support developers with their cash will get a treat for their support and anyone buying second hand will have the option to support the company by buying the cheap DLC if they want to.

    EDIT:

OK just listen to some of Angry Joe Show and it's the hard difficulty mode they've remove. Bloody hell that's an absolute con to pay for stuff like that, not as bad as paying for endings but still really bad.

but its not hard difficulty all it does is remove the HUD and have AI drop less ammo also Ranger mode wasnt a vanilla game mode in 2033 either so they didnt take anything out they just releasing DLC yearly

well I just finished the game and after reading that article I am extremely impressed I would go about saying that 4A is one of the best developers in the history of Gaming if they can create one of the best games I have ever played in my life in poor working conditions and low budget. This game deserves some praise

i didnt play the previous but this did look good.

except the issue of having to have preordered, or pay $5 for the ranger mode(aka hard mode) it was advertised as 'how the game was meant to be played' but they are going to withhold that and charge us for it??

the game looks great. but the sh!ty tactics employed to force us to spend more money on things that should be included in the first place...i'll wait for a bargain bin sale. maybe a steam sale for 50% off.

i hate how the game companies treat their customers, but it saves me money. i may not play the new hotness right when it comes out but it'll still be the same fun when i get around to it
