For the record, while I'm sure it's viable, a Blacksmith Hammer glass cannon build wearing only a couple towels is not the best anti-ganker method. Trust me....I've tried it....

My most successful Catbro anti ganking build revolves around memorizing where all of my Skarekrow Tree Descendants are located. Add a dash of WoG, a Tablespoon of poison throwing knives and at the very least, you have fun while dying.

Darkmoons and catbros always have to be prepared for the worst. But also the best depending on what you are up against. I say it is a symbiotic relation in the forest. A darkmoon gets an ear and the catbro gets whatever it is they get.

I must disagree slightly, but only on opinion. I find it fun hunting someone down. Searching the area for clues and hints as to where he is. And that great moment when you find them and get to shoot an arrow at the back of their head so they are stunned from the headshot and watch as whatever they are fighting then screws them over.

I agree...but only if they're actually doing something. In the cases like I described they're literally just hiding somewhere and have killed nothing. That isn't very fun. It's also annoying to join in, run forward about 10 steps, then get kicked back out due to area boss challenge or host disconnect; there's not a whole lot you can do about those.

Jumping someone as they progress the level can be great fun, or even overcoming an ambush they set up for you as you follow their trail of corpses. That's fine. It's the whole "you can't do anything" that I don't enjoy.

Winged spear +15 and DMB. No consideration, no shield, just a lot of pokey staby death. It shows them how easy they are to kill. Then a jump for joy and I'm gone.

Interesting! I do this as a darkwraith, but only have 15 INT to use great magic weapon (and some trolling stealth stuff but that's another matter). I poke a lot, but I also run high poise and kick-spam for the 2H follow-up. I am shocked I don't get more hate mail than I do lol. Maybe kick spam is too novel?

Most successful I've seen is the dark-bead + something else stuff. Most gankers do not pack the skill required to combat it effectively, though I myself haven't used it I've seen it out of many successful catbros and obviously since it can insta-gib someone it's a great anti-ganker tool (this is very much the reason I will put my back to a tree and fire off a tempest).

There are a few areas in the forest that are along the cliff with chokes. If you're outnumbered 2v1 you can run there and wait for another invader...or kill them as they try to get through the mess of trees to you since if they commit to coming in there they absolutely can NOT dodge a tempest and trying to flank/pincer it with ranged exposes them to easy 1v1 situations. A lot of gankers won't even go over there, but then you can get 2v2 easily enough.

best way to troll Painted bridge would be a phantom with Havels shield walking towards you slowly, and the host behind him spamming Force.

or have one person walking towards you with Havels shield up slowly, and 2 people at the other end of bridge shooting Gough's bow at you

Anti-gank build? Well, I have no specific one, but it'll include TWoP and WotG. TWoP them, then dead-angle WotG them. Can't dodge me, can't block me, can't parry me, all they can do is stand there and die. Unless they somehow manage to stay out of range of the TWoP (they usually aren't smart enough for that) or survive long enough for the TWoP to run out (yeah, good luck with that) they do not stand the slightest chance.
