The Sharp Shooter Empty The Sharp Shooter

Post by Tolvo Thu Mar 01, 2012 2:03 am

So I was looking towards screwing around as, dun dun dun, "The Sharp Shooter!" Just some stupid thing I wanted to do, be like some old western looking hero with a duster(Wanderer Chest), Big Hat's Hat, and some other minor things and rely entirely on range weapons, and a dagger. Right hand I wanted something good for quick damage and BS, maybe a Rapier. On the left I was looking to go with either the Black Bow, or Composite bow. In the right hand off I wanted Dragonslayer Bow and in the left hand off Avelyn more than likely, maybe Sniper or heavy Crossbow. My question is about modifying some of these weapons. Should I go with +15, or an elemental? Obviously for the Crossbow no Lightning, and Fire and Magic are out for Bows. Should I go with an elemental, or +15 for them? Also don't bring up how utterly retarded this build is, it is mainly for fun unless somehow this actually is viable. So any ideas or suggestions?

Hmm, that isn't a bad idea. I could switch between them and get different damage values to keep people on their toes. I would have to sacrifice a bow, but that might not be too big of a loss. If I'm lucky people might not even pick it up and get screwed up in trying to attack to one style of attack. As well if I am against an enemy with high resistance to one element I could just switch to either a +15 or a different one. Hmm, the Dingy is a possibility, I have always liked that robe, but I'm just not entirely sure how I feel about the look. I'll probably give it a try when I go on the PS3 and see how it goes with the feel. I do have a +9 set of it already.

Surely its gotta be duelling cross bows - one in each hand.

That would give it that old feel, as well at any time I could easily switch between two Rhythm of attacks, maybe I could switch the Dragonslayer over. Man, the more I think about this the more I can't wait to try some of these out and see how things go. I can only say this though, my back is going to have a Bullseye the size of Texas haha.

Aren't light cross bows the fastest? Just roll around like mad and punish where you can. Sounds like a great fun build!

What might do good is Av in one hand, and Light crossbow in the other. Harass at medium range with Av, and if they are getting a bit closer use the light. That way I can make use of openings while still dodging around. Yeah I know, it's one of the reasons I wanted to try it. I never mess around much with ranged weapons in PvP aside from the Dragonslayer, so I really wanted to give this one a go.

av leaves youi in one place for too long leaving you open for bs, heavy crossbow for that, do not use the sniper crossbow its the slowest crossbow and its only advantage is shot range which is useless cause you can only aim via targeting.

Well you can actually use a bow or Binoculars to aim your crossbow, but that would probably be a very rare circumstance in which I can do such a thing. Probably I'll save the bow for longer ranged fights.

    Thanks for the input guys.

Make sure you have .red tearstone ring. You will do crazy damage once its activated. Also go +15 and a composite bow. Blackbow of pharis is horrible lol

Well I actually already have a +15 Comp and Black bow, as well as a lightning version of both. I'll just probably test them in combat the next time I go to the Forest.

Hmm, the Red Tearstone isn't a bad idea. Since with this build if they get close I'm probably going to be killed anyway. I might actually start the fight at low and try that out.

The pharis is a LONGBOW, so yes, its useless up close. it is however great if you have some distance + fog ring. auras give you away though. percillas dagger would be great in a pinch, they back off to avoid the bleed and eat more bolts with their face.
