Farming red slabs

...is a giant pain in the iron tarkus. Wiki says the octo baddies in lost izilith drop em, can anyone confirm? (not that i don't believe the wiki...).

It's really boring having to run around all of lost izilith just to kill four of these octo baddies. (2 in onion head pit, one on top of stairs, one by BoC.. am I missing any?) At least farming normal slabs, I can sprint across the drake bridge and kill eleven darkwraiths in quick succession.

I don't mind putting in the effort to farm but I don't think this was well thought out.

have you tried farming for blue slabs yet?

You think farming red slabs sucks? Try farming blue slabs. I think it's obvious From didn't want you to farm slabs that easily.

I have acquired red slabs from the chaos eaters. it sucks to try, but as far as slabs go white are the easiest to farm.

whites and blues are the only slabs that have never once dropped for me, and i've logged 1000s of hours in dark souls by now.

I picked one up near the one in the chest, I laughed and said "really?". I've picked up each type of slab once now, but only when I wasn't farming for them.

On PC? How many you need? I probably could give you a couple. My last characters have been STR/DEX, DEX, INT, and FAI. I haven't needed them very much.

Thx for the confirm on octo baddie dropping slabs. I can imagine farming butterflies would be even more painful. Luckily I've never had to do it.

I think you're better off doing a lot of NG+s, instead of farming

I have a lot of spare slabs of all colors, my son loves farming for me.

Make sure you have the Covetousness Serpent Ring and around 10 humanity if you are farming, helps increase the drops.

Try farming Drakes for dragon scales. Now that is fun.

I meant in terms of harvesting; I always get kicked off the damn bridge and die or get gangbashed by the drakes. At least those Hungers die with one hit if you have the right weapon.

The Eaters are in a terrible terrible spot to farm, as well as the Drakes. Drakes are easier to farm farm farm, but harder to kill, and significantly more dangerous. I'd say the Eaters are worse, but the Drakes are harder.

Try farming back in 1.03, now that was a nightmare, that I did concede.

OP; if you're on PS3 trading is definitely your best option. Second best would be going through multiple playthroughs like Hachouma said. But, there seems to be a lot of people running around with a bunch of slabs on PS3 these days...

Right I have offered some trades and had a couple people offer to give me the stuff for free. I just think they should have put more chaos eaters in lost izilith.

Why do you need so many blue/red slabs? How can you need so many enchanted/chaos weapons? (Not that there's anything wrong with it, I just don't see why you'd need more than one).

The only coloured slab i've had as a drop was white, from a pinwheel. I've had quite a few normal slabs though. The very first time I killed a darkwraith, I got a slab without even knowing they dropped them.
