Dies the stumbling actually have some i frames? Or was it just a lucky break? I was not 3 feet away, it didn't even stagger me.

I've heard somewhere that the slow walk roll actually has like 2 i-frames, but I'd need to test it to be sure.
It's definitely possible that it does have a few frames, as it is a roll.
