NOTE: This is just a fun nonsense build

So I was thinking about the Duke's archives and all the rusty gears and I was inspired to make a machinist character. I chose a Lightning Aevelyn with Lightning bolts as the main weapon because it just seemed like the most advanced technology. I use the crystal ring shield because it also looks like something made from advanced magitech. The pyromancy spells I chose all invoke a sense of more modern weaponry. Flame surge is like a flamethrower and toxic mist represents gas weaponry. Iron flesh just makes me think of robots (lol).
I would also have plenty of firebombs on hand for this build at all times just because they are, well, bombs!
As for the armor I chose, I just picked what looked most steampunk to me, quite honestly.
In terms of rings, RoFaP is a must of course, and the Leo ring is also just out of necessity.

Ever try Helm of the Wise, Leather Armor, Brigande gloves, and Wanderer boots? Now THAT looks steampunky.

Ring of fap is pretty much useless when you have 75 vitality. Become all machine and use the golem armor.

Oddly enough this is the alternative I was thinking about shortly after I posted. I completely forgot about the iron golem armor! I always do!

    Also, thank you, Animaaal!

    Steampunk

    Concept:

-DSS looks very steampunk and shots lightning for Pete's sake.

-The Darkmoon Bow looks like the Avelyn's equivalent imo, and would fit with the castings very well.

-Velka's Mask and Laurtec's Armor look very steampunk to me.

-The style of the Giant's hands and legs fits the theme, and are just great pieces of armor.

-TWoP and Force could be a gravity manipulation ability. Gears...time machines...kinda fits happy

-The Effigy shield says "Gieger Steampunk to me". Also, I can swap out to Crest, and Dragon's Crest, which fit the theme (sorta) and also function very well.

-Replenishment and the Coloranthy Ring sorta give me this techno boost vibe. Maybe the "arms" on Larutrec's chest piece are filled with steroids?

    Magipunk

    Concept:

-I'd eff with the sliders until his skin glowed blue in character creation.

-The Crystal Helm and TCC seem sorta Alchemypunk to me. Very easy to imagine the conjoining of stones and jems with machinery.

-Lightning Server and Lightning Avelyn for "electricity".

-Santcus with Strong Magic Shield say, "Super Shield with a kickass battery" to me.

-I chose the Brigand chest piece over the Dingy Robe for the whole "glowing thing" and it looks slightly more steampunk than the Dingy imo.

-HCSM for "floating crystal alchemy" and Dark Bead for a... Gothicpunk??? I could go with the CSS, obviously, but I love my unlocked DB 8)

-I'd carry the Avelyn on my back for looks and "traveling".

I had some other armor combinations in mind with the Sealer Mask,
Helm of the Glorious, Smough'd Head, some Catrina stuff and the like....
...I gotta go mow the grass though...

I have always liked the crystal armor, but it looks more clockwork than steampunk to me. Still, they are pretty close styles, visually.

EDIT: Also, a plus 1 for those builds Animaaal.

The giant hal is one of those weapons I never really gave a chance. Now that I have looked at the design more closely, I am like, "Why haven't I been using this all along!?"

The Giant's Halberd is very good for a heavier build due to its length, I get a surprising number of wins in full Giant cosplay at a high level, and quite a few people in the Arena seemed to get angry at my midrolling proficiency.
