Running R1 Greatsword Poise Break

Hearing reports of a 56 break on that. What I'm hoping people can confirm is if the break (meaning poise needed to avoid stun) is 56 or 57 and if this also applies to the other 53 classes. Thanks for the help!

my main character has 77 poise and I've been staggered by the first hit before when it was an obsidian greatsword but for other swords it feels like 60 I dont have anyone to test with but it feels more than 56, I know there is a % formula for it like maybe 5-8% more? of whatever the break is?

I think its not more than 60, remember that poise works like poison and even if you dodge a hit you still get your poise drained. gahh now I wanna test it.

I think the first few posters are thinking of Ultras. I mean regular greats. Rant and Fin have the idea. Fin, I suspect it fills 55 and 56 is the breakpoint too, just want to confirm before adding to the wiki. Thanks fellers!

Edit: My bad, skimmed past mention of the Obsidian GS and just read the 77 poise comments. Either way, we need the science!

Hells' was saying it breaks 59 poise and you need 60 to tank claymore 2 hand running R1.

Side note, wouldn't it be LOVELY to have the poise break points for all the 1H and 2H R2 moves? Das what I want.

And yeah that's what I am trying to do is get a full compendium of all poise breaks. It's ambitious but meh.

Ok, so it breaks 55. Just tested it with rant. 56 to tank it. We tested 2h R2 and it breaks 52. So 56 to resist two-handed running attack and 53 to resist two-handed strong attack. We were too lazy to test 1h attacks and started dueling with Glute.

It has your baseline breaks, but it's lacking all sorcery and complete moveset numbers.

I believe I have a toon capable of wielding every weapon if you have one in his SL range.

I have a 196 with 40 Str, 32 Dex, 25 int, and 30 faith. So we could do some magic testing as well.

I have a 108 with 47 int and 28 Dex so I can do magic testing on him.

And finally I have a 124 with 58 strength that can do testing with any strength weapon.

Seems like my memory of my toons isn't as good as I thought it was haha.

I have poised trough that attack with 56 poise, but I think that if it is a critical hit or "counter" hit it may have more poise stun, but I'm like 90% sure the regular poisebreak for that is 56.

E, the number was 56, not 55. 2h running attack breaks 55 so you need 56 to tank it. I fixed the wiki.

The wiki shows the breakpoints needed to tank. I had it right did I not?

This may be getting down in the weeds a bit, but running attacks can be tricky because a number of weapons have a separate invisible AOE impact effect that can stagger folks distinct from traditional poise breaking on an actual hit. Zwei, greatsword, and great club are examples. In other words you can stagger people (even those with high poise) with a near miss, sometimes even if you wouldn't have staggered them with an actual hit. And with lag etc sometimes you get both effects on top of each other such that you stagger someone you normally wouldn't have.
