Before you mention a weapon, make sure that it is easy enough to get early on in the game without much upgrading.

The title syays it all. By lower levels, i mean 50. I have 24 strength and 23 dex, but its a mage character, so i also have around 24 int.

Velka's Rapier would be nice but that's a little later in the game. Honestly, your best bet would probably be getting a good weapon drop from a Black Knight.

Black Knight weapons are a good suggestion.
If I had your current stats I'd go kill Sif (summon if needs be) and up my Faith to 20 to use the Greatsword of Artorias. Requires upgrading a sword to 10+ though.

Claymore? It's in Undead Parish, you can do some good damage with it and with your Int, you can buff it.

Greatsword of Artorias might be a little tricky to get, but since your character seems to have mixed amount of the scaling stats it would be a very suiting weapon for you.

He needs the Giant Blacksmith to make that weapon, he said he wants weapons he can get early on in the game.

You can never go wrong with a halberd.
Gargoyle halberd is beast! Just kill only the first bell gargoyle till you get it.

You're right. Then I would suggest the Uchigatana which you can get very early by killing the Undead Merchant in the Undead Burg. Use it with any weapon buffs, it's awesome!

Uchi is a good call. Provided you're Ok with losing out on that merchant.
Then again, with the Master Key, you can quickly join the Forest Hunters and unlock Shiva as a merchant and just get your Uchi (in the OP's case the Washing Pole might be even better) pretty early on that way.

Uchigatana is my favourite. I avoided getting it on my first playthrough because I found the firebombs sold by the undead merchant really handy (I beat the gargoyles on my second try, first playthrough). Having more experience with parrying, backstabbing, etc, I'm able to manage a first playthrough without the bombs now, so uchigatana is definitely worth it for me, since I play dex builds. It's so hard to go back to anything with a shorter range after playing with the katanas.

For PvE, I like the Gargoyle Halberd.

Kinda interesting to notice no one mentions the drake sword. But yeah, go for one of the black knights weapons. When I first started out, I managed to kill the black knight in the tower behind the bridge wyvern and got his sword. Used that to get me all the way until I got the cursed version of Artorias Greatsword

the drake sword is a crutch at best, and a pretty lousy one at that.

The Drake Sword is great until Sen's. Then, it really starts to suck.

Gravelord Great Sword. Apart from that, a Halberd buffed with Int.

I second that Velka's Rapier. For an INT/DEX, I've never had anything but success with it. It's fast, hits hard, scales well, and can be turtled with.

Gargoyle Halberd.
Most of Gargoyle Halberd's AR comes from base dmg for it has **** scaling, so it's very good for lower lvls. It also boosts resistances.

I'm not surprised no one mentioned the Drake Sword. It's only good very early, and it is also the only weapon which dosen't scale in power with strength, so it useless at Sen's and further. And my favourite weapon (even though it might not sound so good) is actually a Fire Hand Axe +5 for early in the game.

I agree with this. and IT'S CURSED, so it hits the ghosts in New Londo, so it's a great weapon to have at that level.Djem wrote:Greatsword of Artorias might be a little tricky to get, but since your character seems to have mixed amount of the scaling stats it would be a very suiting weapon for you.

Gargoyle Halberd, upgraded to Fire +5 or +10 is great for low level guys.

I actually found a really amazing weapon. The titanite Catching Pole. It was a lucky drop from the titanite demon at the entrance to the forest. I maxed it out and now i can kill any enemy in 1-3 hits, 1 hit if i get a backstab on them. Speaking of that, when i was down in New Londo, i killed all of the Darkwraiths with one backstab on the first try each. Thats not that cool, but just thought i would mention it.

- REALLY early on, the gravelord sword is great and easy to get.
- Zwei isn't exactly an original idea, but there is a reason for that.
- ASAP arrow the hydra to death (spam wood arrows on it if you must) ---> grab 14 int, oolacile ivory cata, and great + heavy soul arrow. Now you can kill pretty much anything with ease for most of the game...not to mention blow through difficult areas with hidden body (including Anor Londo archer area) like nothing because nothing can see you until you're breathing on them.
- Astora is accessible right from go. It's only soso at first but it scales well.
- Gargoyle tail axe isn't amazing, but it's worth carrying it in blighttown. You can actually run to quelag from the VoD entrance across the poison muck w/o the rusted iron ring and avoid getting poisoned if you put on some resist garb + use that + spider shield (actually all of that is overkill).
- Black knight weapons can be very powerful too, if you can get them.

Reinforced club is a good low-level weapon. Easy to get, hits hard, has a bleed build-up and is good for stunlocking. My SL 20 character has a +15 version of it and it wrecks things. Even though that character has only 12 STR. A chaos or a lightning version would probably be more effective. But I don't like elemental weapons.

Gargoyle Halberd will always have a place in my heart. But for your guy i would say Velka's or maybe some BK weapon, they are always useful and i find then fun to use.

the falchion in blighttown can do wonders against those with no poise.
any sort of spear can compliment any build and the winged one is found in the graveyard
Balder Side Sword is probably the best strait sword if your willing to farm for it but it can take a while
zwildhander is great if you like slow powerful strokes and is also found in the graveyard
BK weapons are very good in PvE and also quite nice in PVP but quite heavy and require quite the stat investment
claymore is useless due to the patch
gargoyle halberd is AWESOME but judging buy your level your past the stage where you get it.... but you may have gotten it already!
drake sword, judging by your level would JUST be viable, but if your willing take it..
bows could be good for drawing an enemy out..
try to get a feel for all because everyone have their own preference. hope i helped!
