I decided I was feeling crappy enough to consider going to the doctor's, because this is much more severe than the usual, near constant illness I have. The choice being, I either choose not to go to Uni tomorrow, and go to the doctor's, or try to fight it off with pills of a sort, and attend Uni? I don't know what to choose. Anyone who is/recently was in Rynn's stream will realise more in depth about this.

This is my outright, final post before bed, since I simply feel too crap to stay up/feel motivated to be awake any longer. I have been faced with a decision, but there are multiple ways of going about it.

I say to call in sick and go see a doctor if you feel it is that severe than it is normal Renegade. Normally I would say to wait out the night to see how you feel but after you said that you threw up a while ago I would not wait and risk having something lurk in your system very long.

Go to the doctor, screw uni. You need to know what's up with you ASAP.

Depneds on the illness.
-Influenza
--Very rarely do doctors prescribe anti-virals, and they would most likely tell you, "Get rest, drink liquids, feed a cold and starve a fever". (There's an actual reason for eating with a cold and fasting for the flu)
-Bacterial
--Depends on the bacteria. If they were to prescribe something like amoxicillan, I wouldn't take it. You're, imo, better off letting your antibodies build up without the help of such a weak antibiotic. However, I got bit by a tick once, and no homepathic, natural, "chicken soup" therapy would've helped me. I needed something very powerful, I could've went blind.
-Psychological
--If you cannot sleep, concentrate, or focus on basic normal functions/duties throughout the day. See someone.
I hope you're well soon.

Doctor takes precedence over one day of school. It's not even a question.

Dude, bacteria are not viruses, antibiotics are necessary and work. A 7day cure of amoxicillin and acid blockers helped me get over a Helicobacter Pylori infection that plagued me for months. Don't knock modern medicine :/Animaaal wrote:Depneds on the illness.

I never said bacteria are viruses.
Your illness probably could've been treated by other means.
Also, there's a lot to be said for over prescribing unecessary antibiotics.
Amoxicillin is one of the weakest available. I said I wouldn't take it, and even gave an example of when supporting modern medicine.
Lastly, my wife became very ill because of amoxicillan being prescribed before a proper culture was done for a staph infection while in the hospital.
If the doctors would've done the culture first, they would've realized amoxicillan would've only made this strain of staph stronger (which it did) and would've immediately presricbed something else.
Doctors often prescribe amoxicillan after making a prognosis, instead of a diagnosis.
Before long, amoxicillan will be non-existant (according to my own conspiracy theory ).
I also suggested he go see someone...what moredo you want?

Sorry, I'm very touchy on the subject of questioning modern medicine lately so I may jump the gun. Amoxicillin is the weakest antibiotic, yes, but it does work in a lot of cases. Staph is different because we abused the out of amoxicillin, it's why MRSA exists. I apologise again though, I should not have assumed you meant something you didn't.

No matter the case do most of us think Renegade should see a Doctor or not?

I can respect that. Sorry if sounded like Iwas playing doctor or something. I am "touchy" too. I deal with pathology on a daily/weekly basis. I'm a mortician, not that it makes me "smart" or anything. I rarely ever question my physicians.
Also, my son is autistic (no I'm sorry's plz...I know you guys ), and also has auto-immune problems. I've had to research to an extent.
Lastly, I was not trying to say illnesses are not to be taken seriously, or that amoxicillan is completely useless. I gave it to my son this past winter. Hiscold wouldn't clear up after 4-5 days. I figured that was enough "chicken soup" therapy.
STRANGE FACT/SPECULATION:
I've read several articles about how the healthiest people (no matter what region) are the ones who grew up in a household that used/had compost heaps....strange, but makes sense.
PS-I believe in natural and homeopathic treatments...but my mom?!?!...she's crazy with the ****.

I heard about that too. I forget the long details but it involves the body being exposed to an environment of bacteria and other molecules in settings like farms where the immune system adapts to the exposure becoming stronger naturally.Animaaal wrote: STRANGE FACT/SPECULATION:

That could definitely be the case, but that is neither here nor there right now, Renegade just needs to go to the doctor and get a proper diagnosis.

Don't worry Ren, 8/10 people walk around with some form of psychological issues. Was I right about them being stomach bacteria?

That sucks.
Take this with your antibiotics, or ask the pharmacist if it is safe to take together...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lactobacillus_acidophilus
If it is safe, then take the acidophilus 3-4 hours after taking your antibiotics. From what I understand, the antibiotic will attack the acidophilus bacterial colonies if taken in conjunction with the other.
Good Luck bro,
Ps-Like denset said....who the *** doesn't have mental probs nowadays??? Wait...a "mental forum covenant"???

Or just ask for some form of acid blockers that are safe to take in conjunction, I imagine the pain I described to you last night that you agreed to feeling has to do with stomach acid hitting the chewed up lining.

Make sure to ask the pharmacist though. Acidophilus is essentially adding "good" bacteria back into your digestive system.
Some antibiotics are very diverse and complicated nowadays, I wouldn't recommend doing it without asking someone.
You'll only be adding digestive bacterial colonies that already exist in your body, but I'd ask to make sure.
I've used it with great success.
Good luck mate.
