My stats need saving!

Hi!

I bought this game ages ago, but just started playing this game. As my first character I did a little research so that I wouldn't mess up (which I did eventually..) Although the only problem with my char is my stats, I think. The idea of my build was going for a dragon build, where I would focus mostly on dex, but some extra stats required for me to use the Greatsword of Artorias (cursed), which I added. I used darksouls wikispace a lot so that I wouldn't overlook anything, so I got mostly every weapon and stuff that are gainable.

At soul level 100, My stats were pretty decent. I destroyed most player who tried to invade, because I had fully upgraded my elite knight armor +10, with a grass crest shield +10 and Greatsword of Artorias +5 (which is max), sometimes i would switch to Gargoyle's Halbred +10 or Dragonslayer spear +5 - which would eventually become my prime weapon. But after 1 guy invaded me, he dropped me a bounch of awesome stuff.. one of them were sunlight medals.. so now I got all confused, left the dragon path covenant, joined the warrior of sunlight covenant and started adding points on faith (which was the stupidest thing, I believe, I could have done), and now my stats are all messed up. So can anyone help me out figuring some kind of plan on what I should add and focus on the next steps?

My stats:
Level: 120

Vitality: 35
Attunement: 14
Endurance: 30
Strength: 24
Dexterity: 40
Resistance: 12
Intelligence: 18
Faith: 30

These stats really aren't all that terrible, Keep using the GSoA since it works for you, since you have really high Dexterity, you might consider carrying around a Baller Side Sword or a Katana as a backup weapon.

Since you have 30 faith, this also allows you to use the faith based buffs of Darkmoon Blade (which requires you to be in the Darkmoon Covenant) and Sunlight Blade (which can be used by anyone.

This build isn't perfectly optimized, but it's not bad at all. Perfectly serviceable.

- Thanks! Thats great and kind of a relief. So do you figure I should stay at this SL? or level up some more to reach more optimized build? - if so, what should I focus my points on?

Those stats are quite good, you could go with either a quality weapon(one that scales C/C on strength and dex) or go with a weapon like Server, preferably at +15, then buff it with Sunlight Blade or Darkmoon Blade for the overkill.

Awesome! I've never thought of using something like Server, mostly because it takes some time for it to strike, but I shall try it out! I've got a Gargoyle's halberd +15 which has come to great use when it comes to dealing damage. Besides that, DsS and GsOA have come to great use.

The Server would have a smaller AR than the Garg halberd at your stats, but the moveset is worth it. It is quite a bit heavier though. Other options for higher ARs would be stuff like the Claymore or Zweihander, the Zwei is just as heavy as the Server and with your stats, hits harder, and the moveset is nice for large sweeeps.

What is AR? sorry Yeah I like the Zwei for it's hard hitting power and the long reach of it. Anyways, I've just made a +15 Server, Zwei and Uchigatana and will compare them all. Looking forward to it.

AR means Attack Rating, it's how hard you could theoretically hit before defense comes into play.

Oh yeah that makes sense :shock: Well I've tried out the various weapons and I'm liking what they have to offer. I'm thinking the Uchigatana and Server will come to better use in PVP than the Zwei - although I'm liking that playstyle better.

It all depends on what works best for you. The beauty about big weapons are the large horizontal sweeps that are good for dead angling, the katanas are great for hitting fast and reasonably hard.

Edit: I forgot the most important aspect of big weapons: Stunlocking!

Yeah true. I'll just have to see what I'm rather good at by PVPing practice makes master (or perfect, whatever). This character doesn't look so dark anymore, his future has become brighter!

Nice! I have not had that many encounters lately with invaders or invading myself. Not sure how many plays this game anymore on PS3, but unfortunately I've got some kind of network error 8013013D, so can't go online atm.

I think the title is a little misleading. Are these the stats that need saving?

This would be great for a Server with Sunlight Blade, and something like chameleon or hidden body.

Hehe, maybe so. In my defense, I was thinking of going past SL 121 so that people could tell me what i should add points too, but I got useful feedback and good responses so, maybe the title should say "my build needs saving"
