So I decided that I want to make a desert themed character. Problem is, Dark Souls does not have anything that is really middle eastern. The helmet of the Eastern set is rather Persian, but the rest of the eastern set is too Oriental. I was thinking some parts of the Xanthos set perhaps (big ugly turban? Lol). I am not sure. All I know is that I will be dual weilding Shotel, since they are Abyssinian in origin. I would like to hear what other players used for their "arabian nights" , african, or desert themed builds.

If looks are what matters Brigand pants look kinda desert...ish. Cause they're all baggy in the legs to keep you cool and stuff.

I agree on the Brigand pants, looks like something out of Aladdin and the King of Thieves.

Brigand gear and the scimitar/falchion are the only things that come to mind.

I always kept it secret cause I like bein' the originator, but:
Dingy Set + Thief's hood. That's all there is to it, friend. Slap a Murakumo on that sucker and he'll be one Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves lookin' mof***a.
I sub in a heavy set of guantlets, because it's the most subtle way to add some poise.
Also, if the Murakumo (or Server) aren't your thing, the falchion or scimitar (or shotel) are good, lightweight stand ins.
This is the secondary costume on my FAVORITE toon (I typically wear Wanderer gear + falchion, but it's a little too heavy when I whip out the 'kumo, plus I just love the dingy+thieves hood+murakumo all together).

Dingy Chest, Eastern Leggings, Dingy gauntlets, Big Hat - The baggy-esque sandy coloured armor works quite well whilst the Big Hat works as essentially something to block the sand from sandstorms getting into his eyes.

Crimson bottom gear, xanthos torso and maidens hood and you'll look like a trifle.

The dingy hood and torso look kind of like what you would expect to see in the desert.
Actually, the hood and the pants of the brigand armor looks desert-y too.

Definitely the brigand pants and hood, no chest srmor, some pyromancy, falchion, shotel, and I would say the server. The Mura is a big katana to me, appearance wise. Black firebombs. Gold tracer would make you a whirling dervish

Well I really liked everyone's input, but this is what I ultimately decided on.

I really liked the way the bandit gauntlets and hood looked. Thanks for that suggestion, peeps. The Xanthous overcoat works well too. I know many people suggested the brigand pants, but ultimately, I decided to use the holy trousers. They look rather desert-y also, and provide better defenses than the brigand pants. I plan on keeping this toon at SL 60, so I went with the Ring of Favor and protection. Due to my lack of poise, I also used the wolf ring, of course.
I decided to take an ascended pyro flame, but I wanted to limit the pyromancy I used to fire surge only. I am willing to go through NG+s just to get this spell, as I do enjoy it.
The inclusion of the spider shield was a last minute decision. I really hate when an invader stands back and spams me with poison arrows, so this is expressly to deal with such a situation.
The reason I am keeping is at SL 60 is because I want to use this to help people with Anor Londo, The Archives, the Tomb, and New Londo.
Thanks again for all your help and if you have any suggestions please do not hesitate to tell me. I normally do role-playing builds, so I am not used to creating unique from scratch builds.
