I want to know everyone's opinion of it. I dislike it, because it essentially enables extreme griefing of low levels (yet again). However, I will use it because I haven't the time to make PvP builds from scratch. I'm a full time student. I want to participate in the forum events and jump right into the multiplayer.

I want everyone to answer honestly, and please state your opinion and nothing else. Logical arguments are acceptable, but PLEASE refrain from outright bashing other people's opinions.

Mods, if you sense any hate or potential for a "war" feel free to shut this thread down immediately. As you see fit.

    Go.

    Bottemless box glitch.

A new method for muling has appeared, but I am prohibited from saying more.

It also unleashes the potential of griefing that existed in the era of the old bbg, but almost to a worse extent.

I will use it to mule and test; nothing more, nothing less.

It's actually an old method, that's gained more prevalence since the patch. I assume this means that we'll fluctuate back up to near the old levels of griefers, etc. This one is potentially more insidious and I am a little worried that the population who only wanted to BBG pre-patch will now seek this method out and it'll transition into the other possibilities. As for your poll, I won't use it personally, primarily because I already have a decent spread of characters across levels and don't really feel compelled to make more characters honestly. If I was in the market for new ones I would be tempted, but unless you're gonna do some real homework on this new method, you're losing out on a lot of customization options that make your character feel like your own.

Yes i would. There are so many builds i still wish to make for experimentation and for events but the lack of time kinda puts a stopper to my plans.

I wont use it. I.... am unsure of how much I can say but my reasons for not using it are unrelated to the impact it will have on the game.

Now back when the BBG was around I Did use it. Essentially to an experienced player all the BBG does is *Save Time* Having Access to "Item A" at the drop of a hat really is to me no big deal. Are SL1s with +5 Chaos weapons fully maxed pyro gloves and Queelana's spells bothersome? Yes. But I have one of those myself and I did it without a mule. If I had used a Mule I'd A) Not have had the fun of beating Drake and Josh at SL1 with a Club. and B) Have about 30 hours of extra time to do other stuff.

The BBG never did effect the outcome of a fight once it started. A +15 Zwei straight from the mule is the same as a +15 Zwei earned the old fashioned way (with the stray demon's slab and chunks from the great hallow) The BBG doesn't swing your sword for you. It doesn't make your sword swing in some new exciting way, it just gives you a sword.

Generally I see it like this. If I were to inspect this dudes character page, could I even tell he used a mule? His stats for his SL will be normal. His items will be... items fully upgraded ones but just regular old stuff. I mean I personally never carry that much grass at once but maybe he does. In all honesty I couldn't tell who did and didn't use the BBG when it was around. And I doubt I'll be able to tell who's using this either.

The biggest difference between the BBG and this "technique" is that if you look at his character page maybe you WON'T see logical stats. If people use this to make builds faster I say god bless (for real, I don't care in the least as long as no one breaks forum rules on how to do this). If they use it for more, well I can't say as I like that idea.

Rynn, from what I hear this is easier on Xbox and you could likely avoid having blue characters (I believe you can on PS3 but like I stated above, you'd have to either do your homework or be better at this sorta thing than I am)

I'm using it to make builds, no more, no less.

If it sounds like I'm over-justifying my future usage of this, it's because I feel guilty.

I believe someone could further edit this new BBG to have infinite HP and the like, my reasoning behind this is because now that there is a save on pc, people can just go in there and do a quick edit and get infinite HP. I even posted on the video and had a discussion with another person on this. So to answer your question if people only use this to make PVP builds faster, i have no problem. But i fear we will see people editing it and hacking.

And honestly i don't think it takes that much time to make a brand new build, to me it only takes 5-10 hours depending if i want all weapons upgraded. If i only want certain weapons upgraded then about 5 hours.

If you're just cutting corners I totally get that. I have one or two hours a night, a few times a week to play video games. If I really wanted to participate in events and needed characters I would almost certainly use this idea for builds. Back in my Diablo II days I used to use a certain "technique" that is pretty much exactly like what I've heard Xbox and PC players have access to. I can tell you how gamebreaking it CAN be, but there's also some nice benefits to it. I don't think you need to feel guilty, it can't make you cheat someone out of a game. That's your choice. If all you're doing is using a realistic character with logical stats and items/gear the only difference in that and a "legit" character is the amount of time invested.

Animaal, I like you, but please don't be so degrading.

I don't know how occupied you are, and if you have a full schedule like I do but still sit down and dedicate time to make your builds, then good on you.I am a full time student. I am NOT lazy. If I had the @#!*% time, I would beat the game as many times as necessary.

About #2, i have no idea what you are talking about.

    I get number 4, but I don't want to co-op.

I made a thread about opinions. It has already been promoted enough on youtube and this forum.

I hope you are not having a bad day and just venting, because that would suck. But please, try and restate yourself without the derogatory accusations.

Also, "enough time" is a matter of perspective. I barely get 3-4 hours a week, much less 1-2 a day.

Animal I don't even like you and I'll probably get actioned for this because it's 100% caustic.

    1. Yeah and I have just about 44 PvP builds I want to make and use. A good number of those need NG++ at least.

    2. What fate is that? I still have a couple of my Guys from before the DLC and nothing seems unusual about their damage.

    3. You look skyward because? Do you HONESTLY think trying new things is bad? What a JOKE. No seriously. That's a goddamn joke of a stance to take.

    4. No I'm not. I don't summon anyone for anything ever any way.

    5. "Oh noes people playing the game...lots of them! Make it stoooooop"

    6. Older generations are biggoted and closed minded. You stereotype throwing geezer

Demon, people have already been doing this. I too worry this might make it worse though. I've personally seen (on PS3 mind you) at least one infinite healther and one guy using a modified attack. I wasn't sure on the second guy (thought it was a graphics glitch) but Befowler (I think it was him) had seen the same thing at around the same time.

Regarding the idea it's lazy. Oh hell yeah it is. But your 5-10 hour estimate for me, could mean a week or even two or more of my PS3 time. If I wanted into a tournament or an event I would be tempted. For example, I wanted to make my GremKing toon sl55 so I could enter forum events at that SL. I started weeks ago and I'm at 26. I still haven't purchased several of my necessary things, etc. either. 5-10 hours can be a major investment for some players.

Lazy isn't always bad either. Tractors were invented to make farming easier. Laziness can lead to improvements. Part of the charm of Dark Souls is its difficulty but that isn't lost in most cases here. The majority of us on the forum could grind without any significant difficulty to get the character built the way we wanted to.

I still say it's a double edged sword. Like the glitches of old, this can be a decent place to discuss our opinions of it, since we do represent a good portion of the die hard fans of the series. Let's keep it civil everyone

Really now? I honestly can say i've never came across any type of hacker on the PS3. But i honestly think that many people will just edit this mule further and then boom, they have everything they need, infinite health and all the gear in the game.

Honestly i wish they never got rid of the BBG, it was fair in the way that you had to at least ONCE beat the game and get all your gear before you could transfer it to a new guy.

Oh and regarding the time, i suppose that is true. I tend to think everyone has at least 2 hours a day at some point to play, but i suppose not. Thanks for giving me a different perspective.

And i'm with you on the lazy thing, if you can work smarter do it, don't work harder.

Only problem for this new method is the blue skin though.
I'd prefer to fully customize my characters to have proper looks and colors but a beggar doesn't get to choose.
