    As some of you may know, the Bow & Arrow has recieved 2 notable changes:

    1) The speed of arrow shots has significantly increased
    2) You can now move and shoot at the same time

    With this, the bow has gotten an upgrade in the offensive and defensive department. Unless the amount of damage per shot has been nerfed, the bow could end up being one obnoxious and dangerous weapon. First, any enemy has to approach you to while you're shooting a constant stream of fast arrows, making it harder to dodge. In addition, even if someone got close to you, the fact you can move could render shorter reaching weapons useless.

    From a PvE perspective, this is not necessarily bad as enemies have been shown to have improved in the moveset department, but from first impressions, this thing seem over the top in PvP. I mean, combine this with the player's ability to run away while locked-on. Bows seem insane at first sight.

    What are your first impressions on Bows?

    I've never been very good at manually aiming anything like bows. I can do FPS, but almost nothing else in that department, so I will probably avoid the use of bows in the pvp of this game like I did in the first DkS.

    Are we talking PVP or PVE? In PVE, bows are a godsend, but they are limited at best in PVP, since there is no way to properly gauge the enemy movement and manually aim and most arrows are easily dodged by a human anyway.

    It will open possibilities for straight bowman builds. Hopefully though, it takes extra stat investment in order to maximize bow power/range/speed.

    I hope it takes a SPECIFIC new stat for bow only, that allows movement and more speed. But if it just DEX again...then the bow builds with (insert light weapon of choice here for dex) build will own PvP.I expect a patch to them not long after, so get your bow on from the start basically.

    You and me both skare. Most underrated and neglected weapon in the Souls games I think. In fact I'd go so far as to say that, without my bows, I would have had a hard time getting through the games at all and I certainly would not have got the Platinum trophy for Dark Souls without one.

    If bows are ever a viable option in any kind of game, you can bet I'll be using one.

    Lava Bow never left my side in Demon's Souls. Always had a either a Black Bow or Composite Bow in DkS. I'll continue the tradition; The fact that I can move and shoot makes me giddy like a school girl.

    i think if it opens up for more variety in builds out there, and isnt crazy op, it will be awsm. build variety is probably my fave thing about the souls games. i havent really given an all out bow user a try, and it is mostly because you cannot move and shoot at the same time, so i think i will def be getting into it more for dark soulz 2

    I'm sure defensive and offensive abilities were both increased as well, we already know *or at least we think* that duel wielding is going to have a major part in this game, so that can also increase your AR. In terms of DPS, I think the bow is about the same as it always has been if we consider this.

    from what I saw in the gameplay that we saw it look like the bow will shot faster and you can move but if you look at his stamina bar it drops rapidly

    You make a good point, in the current game your stamina recharges before you even have enough time to queue another action after your shot.
    Faster fire for more stamina, thus you run out after so many shots.

    I said this elsewhere but there's no ammo counter either that I could see ( but slots were there like Dark Souls). Either they went super demo mode or we're looking at a special bow. Basically, we may not be looking at something that's very representative of the entire bow system

    well it was a big monster and the bow they were using could have been weak but that was the yearly stages of the game we where seeing so it can change alot

    The arrow "explosion" effect is ridiculous though

    Yeah, it's hard to speculate the dmg when it was just a tech demo (he did ridiclous dmg to monsters with his sword and took very little dmg from the hits).
    The area with the cyclops monster seemed to me like it was the "tutorial" level for DkS2

    Explosion effect, more evidence that this might not be a normal bow they showed us.

    Juutas, even though I don't use them, I'm hoping the crossbow makes a return too

    I dont think that will be an issue.
    If someone is slowly walking backwards while constantly shooting arrows at me then I would just a) run serpentine and smash him in the face when I get to him, or b) constantly roll at him dodging his arrows.
