Where are you looking for summon signs? Don't look in the Chasm, look in the Township.

Yeah, the township is the best place to summon. You just have to be ready for the wave of invaders. What's your SL? Are you over/underleveled?

Few to none place a sign in the chasm, more of an cheap invasion place. It is not a preferred choice for some reason. I think it is too dark. Pendant is right with the township lots of people place signs their and you will get the better end as a sunlight warrior.

Haha I was having same issue. I was SL 32 and I think a little low because no signs anywhere.

He took me like 14 tries to learn his patterns what a pain. I don't remember him being this hard before but I finally got him.

Post your system and SL here and someone will help. I can if its xbox

You don't need to use summons. Takes a half dozen tries at most if you know what you're doing, assuming you aren't pulling things like SL1 or severe underleveling.

look at some videos on utube and u ll pick up the fight

    its basically like this

    1) get a good range away from him

    2) wait for his palm slam attack , he will try to attack u and expose his hand for easy 2 hits

    3) dodge the attack he does with his arm , like a harvest punch thing (soz my english is kinda ****)

4)use that pendant u pick up in the townership from the chest in the hidden area that u go into with cast light / skull lantern to cope with his dark magic attacks , u will take no damage if u use it well , i always get rid of all the items from the quick selection menu and leave only the flasks and the pendant for quick switch , he will start using dark magic attacks once he is around 50% i think

    5) you can summon sif the wolf as well for some help , u have to rescue him first and be in human form

I'm like level 56, there were no signs for the guardian, no signs for artorias, no signs in township or chasm. I know not offline because I see user made messages.

Connection issues or a quiet day? You tried reloading the game a few times? It worked for me in the burg.

I see summon signs there all the time. It is rare that I don't get one phantom. I have a coop build at SL 85 and get summoned frequently for Arty, Kalameet, and Township. SL 56 may be a little low for the DLC.

I have a 70 sumpin and a 112 in the DLC, the 70 sumpin gets summoned more than the 112. Fixin to take a 57 in, if ps3, I'll be available to help.

I found sif to be less than useless on this fight...at first it was impossible to see her sign and when I did find it she did little to no help, I remember one attempt all she did was follow me around as I was promptly dealt with.

Sif is only good as a meat shield. Back off, let Manus focus his attention on her and hit Manus from behind.

    Are you summoning Sif?

I would help you, but my level 60 hasn't even cleared Anor Londo yet.

SL 60 gets tons of summons.
It's most likely because you're on the PC, assuming your location.
PC is dead, most people prefer the consoles because it's not *completely* filled with hackers, or they just don't want to stare at a CPU all day long.

    Havel's + magic = success.

If you have high crystal magic then he shouldn't be too difficult. It seems that every DLC boss, except for Kalameet, has lower resistance to fire. That means that even in NG+++ great combustion still does good damage, and by that time you should have quite a few castings.

Manus, for me, is probably the toughest boss in the game. Against the tougher bosses, I generally screw poise, put on the dwgr + good shield.

DWGR is also another viable option.

Actually using it when the game first game out helped me learn the dodging for the fast and mid roll (I hate using fat roll).

I agree on what's being said about the DWGR. Eases the fight's difficulty by a considerable amount.
