    Bad habits

Post by densetsushun on Sat Apr 06, 2013 1:02 pm

What bad habits do you have when playing Dark Souls?

I have a bad habit of rerolling characters for no reason(I'm talking 20+ hours gone on a whim). I also like to pick up everything I come across but drop anything I don't think a build needs, then regretting it later when I wanna do something with it.

Making a ton of new builds for no discernable reason.

Making a new playthrough, going through the grueling experience that is everything I do on every new playthrough, get to the first bonfire in the Burg, delete the file.

Using gestures when I 'think' people are dead, just for them to get up and kill me.

Starting a new character, doing my usual pre-story run through Lordran, then popping a humanity and remembering that I was about to suicide run for something Look Skyward

My biggest mistake is usually going for items wile underleveled/undergeared because I decided it was critical to my build.

An example of this would be, running straight down to Ash Lake straight out of the Asylum because I want to join the covenant.

I can understand going for stuff like that if you've already planned your build out.

Thinking I'm still decent at PvE.

If you can beat me fairly easily at PvP, why is PvE so hard for you, if I find it easy? :?:

I am completely out of practice. My last time really doing PvE by myself was 400 hours ago in-game time. It's also the type of player I am - I struggled my first playthrough for PvE but I started off winning most of my fights in PvP.

I seem to be the total opposite. silly But, I think my best ever victory was against Rynn, or you. You are both skilled players, and have higher hp than me, so it may even itself out.

Making a build, and then giving up on it before I get to the bonfire in the Burg.

I've wasted ~1700 hours doing that.
30 mins a time, I make a new file, sometimes two, almost every day.
    And some in the middle.

1700?! That is a ton of saves. How much hard drive space do you think you have used up doing that?!

I'm glad I only like melee combat. After I made a quality build, I was set.

A few times I never made it past the archer guarding the shield in the Undead Asylum.

I just said screw it and did something else.

Beating OnS, then getting to Lord areas (ToG, Demons) without Placing Lordvessel on firelink

    Fighting BoC

dying with ring of sacrifice and only remember to replace it after losing many PVP battles

I hate farming Black Knight weapons

I got a shield off of him in my last playthrough of the area.

I did it like 4 times then I got frustrated so I shut off the game. I want to go on with my game but I built around that weapon and I don't want to have to wait until the Kiln to gt it.
