Male/Female Characters
When your creating a character does anyone have any preference, im interested to know peoples creations as personally ive never made a female character i dont know why, its just never appealed but i have plenty of mates who have done and encountered lots online in a variety of different games not just dark souls so i know its not strictly a male makes male, female makes female situation. So yeah just incase topic is unclear what i mean is, are there other people that are male that stick stricly to male or female characters or like to mix it up and the same vice versa for any females on this forum, and what is the inspiration behind these builds such as a personal preference or appearence, thought it would be cool to see peoples ideas and creations and for you to showcase what you was trying to accomplish

Re: Male/Female Characters
i am male and my main toon is female. a nice slim one that i made a strength/endurance/dexterity build.
i just like cute girls who can handle a big weapon...
Edit: i baptized her "karl", which is definately a male name. leaves some room for speculation.

I mix it up if I get bored, though makes little difference in Dark souls in demons armour sets can be specific, so yeah i change it up but i stick primarily to male toons.

Re: Male/Female Characters
I almost always make a male first and a female second. Did it in DeS, Oblivion, Fallout, Diablo 2 (sorceress), and now DkS.

Re: Male/Female Characters
all my toons are female except for my first build, they all look eerily familiar to my wife(which makes sense since she's the one that makes them, its the only thing she likes doing cause shes not a gamer).

Re: Male/Female Characters
I normally play as a man, but my Int Toon is a woman.
That seems to usually be how I play in general. I reserve warriors to men, and casters to women.

Re: Male/Female Characters
All of my characters are male except my most recent one. She's a pure strength build. I figure I'll have to be naked most of the time when I'm carring 25 weight weapons and shields, so I might as well enjoy the view.

Re: Male/Female Characters
I perfer the females over males in most RPGs. Not because of what they are, but more so for opportunity. In fallout and such, I find that the females have more choices and opportunities than a male, so I use a female. In dark souls, I find that the clothing in msot cases does not look **** on the female (although their is some that look better on a male). I choose either sex depending on what feels to suit the lass I build... even though I have a male and a female that have the exact same build >.>

Re: Male/Female Characters
All of my characters are female except for one male I created because the look of the Ninja armor combined with the thief armor looked better on males. But I haven't touched him since pushing him to level 45 a while back.

Re: Male/Female Characters
In most of my games I choose my starting character based on apperance rather than stats.. I thought the male pyromancer and wanderer had really awesome clothes, I wish I could give my char's more than a shadow of a goatee though! even just a full beard shadow would keep me happy.
In general I usually make a male character first, then.. another male character ... and then a female character who I stop playing as to go back to my 2 other male characters. Even though I'm not a male I relate more easily to a male adventurer I think i am just used to rping as a male character since female protagonists arent very frequent in older games.

Thats why I aways use some cool armor
I mean who makes a male deprived?
My toons are male, because In my opinion, when females are hit they make such an annoying noise

Lol, did you avoid MGS4 because of this forum pirate. Old snake has one firm toosh.
Caraphil! THAT, exactly what you said, I cannot stand the female voice. nothing reminds me more of why I hate my 1 female character than watching her take a hit or fall to her death. lern 2 die with dignity :x

Re: Male/Female Characters
In every other rpg I usually first play a good, male character, cause I can identify myself best with those. On second playthrough I usually play an evil, female character, so I get to see the rest of the content, like alternative dialog options or missions.

Re: Male/Female Characters
I doesn't help anything that the character models are even worse looking than the ones in oblivion....,..
And that to make a halfway good looking character, it'd be nothing short of a miracle.
I get that you can't see their faces most of the time, but damn

Re: Male/Female Characters
When I read guys are making girl toons, I think of the movie the gamer and picture that big fat guy playing as a chick and trying to have sex with men and get aroused lol. But I play with all men toons. I'm a guy so it makes sense to play as a dude.this is my opinion so Don't get upset people.

Re: Male/Female Characters
Seems like this thread could use a poll in it
As for me, I make exclusively female characters, only deviating when I'm doing a seriously heavy RP run that cannot be done with a female character model (ex: my Demon's Souls Fat Official character, that needed a male, lower-body heavy build). As to why, I'm not really sure. I've always felt the female characters fit better when playing a caster to compliment the fragility of the playstyle, but I also think there's an awesome kind of irony in having a more demure(?) figure when using a tanked-out, massive weapon swinging build. So I guess if I had to say a why, it would be for the role-playing feel of it.

Re: Male/Female Characters
All my characters are female (like me). The best day was when I figured out that I can make pink hair in the customization menu. Once in a while I'll make a male character in a game, but I find that I never really feel attached to them and they usually end up abandoned.

If I Can Choose, I Always Make A Male Toon.
I Always Think It's Me In The Game Then And Yh I Couldn't Do That With A Girl Toon
So Yh I'm Male And I Make Male Toons.

I always play as girls. Mainly because I've never even been curious as to what it's like to be a guy.
