    Dark Souls Racing!

Post by PolarisStar on Sat Apr 06, 2013 3:23 am

I just had the best idea ever for an event.

You have 4 people on an area, all naked, no rings, no items, no healing; and they have to race to the end of the level. You could even bet, like 5 humanity (or other item) per person, so the winner gets 15 humanity.

Just imagine the shenanigans of a race like that on Blighttown, or the Township...

I imagine on the Blighttown race someone would knock everyone off with Force.

I'd win a ToG race to Nito. Praise the Sun

I'd like to add some suggestions though:
Everyone is allowed to arm themselves with the hilt or broken sword.
Minor stuff like Force, poison/toxic cloud, dung pies, (poison) throwing knives.
Stamina regen stuff is not allowed, neither is Fall Control.
In areas with water, Rusted Iron Ring is not allowed.

That would make it more of a fun race, kinda like Mario Kart. big grin

Random weapons on the ground in some places could be like the item boxes xD

That could work if they were placed in the least convenient path. If you could take either path A and realistically get there in 1 minute, or take path B with 3 blossoms and arrive in slightly less than 1 minute, it would be pretty nice.

As course hazards you could have Darkwraiths with Dragonslayer Greatbows.

Only problem is, where would the start and finish be? And which location would you start from?

I'd assume it would be an area start, and then the boss fog for that area.
Like for Blighttown, you could start at the top near the Depths entrance, and then the finish is the gate to Kellog's boss fight.

Wouldn't it be better for the host to cause the hazards and have the phantoms race? When a phantom's out everyone else isn't, but when the host is out the race is over.

Yeah but a host can't send a Phantom flying off of Upper Blighttown in a way that makes me want to cry laughing until I pee myself.

Yeah, It would probably be more sense to do that.

White phantoms would have to run though normal enemies
    or
Red Phantoms would have to avoid the DBow Arrows

And with the grass, people could cheat :$

That's the thing, you'd need to trust your friends when organising the race to make sure no one cheats and no one has full inventories, you can only pick stuff up. Unused consumables would be returned after the race.
