pyromancy or chaos weapons. depends on your stats though, +15 weapons with 40 on either dex and str should do the job.

Get a good shield, silver knight shield works well, +5, and block and backstab the enemies. Once they're all dead, kill the channeller. He won't approach you, so just let the enemies come to you when you're not exposed to the channeller.

Fog ring, crest shield, and run. Works well for me. I don't like fighting the enemies in the archives.

EVERYTHING in the Dukes Archives(including Seeth) are really REALLY REALLY weak against fire and lightning.

If the mobs are getting to you, you can sneak past them with the use of Hush spell, Hidden Body spell, Sleeping dragoncrest ring and Ring of Fog.

If you use Hidden Body + Slumbering dragoncrest ring/Hush then monsters won't notice you until your character bumps into them. Oh. And it has to be hidden body. Ring of Fog is less effective.

Don't rely on rolling too much, most of the equipment in the Archives can't be broken with rolls and can be very distracting from the enemies.

I think you could do the entire archives without engaging (in practice you'll like have to kill some crystal undead to clear your path), except for the prison section -- even without any stealth. That includes the entirety of crystal cave. Be aware, that the clams sometimes follow you into the Seath fight. He'll kill them for you, though. I've only had it happen once, I cut from left to right just before I enter the fog to give myself some seperation, it seems to help. If you choose to play it straight up keep moving, don't be a stationary target.

Kill off all his surrounding buddies before engaging señor Channeler, though, judging by your avatar, it appears you are already past that part.

A decent lightning halberd destroys the skellies and the channelers and lightning spears destroy Seath (and if you run out of them then lightning halberd finishes the job). At least at lowish SL I find this to be the easiest way by far.

Take it slow, play it safe. Take the enemies one at a time if you can, if not then poke, run around some poles/bookshelfs/tables to get some space between the multiple enemies and poke again.

The first Channeler is most annoying when fighting the enemies in the room to the front of his, but you can pull the enemies away, kill them, then run in and behind a bookshelf. Pick off any enemies that follow you, then you should be able to run out and kill the Channeler quick~

Of course this depends on your weapons/armor, it's entirely possible you're massively undergeared, I have no idea lol!

Then, if you can, stacking Pyromancies might be a good idea~ At least for the first room since it can be pretty chaotic in there.

Also, if you haven't you might want to look at some people's playthroughs of that area, knowing the layout/enemy placement can help a lot, though some people like to be surprised so it's really up to you.

Or you could go level up more, until you do have the stats, there's a few good methods you can use this far in the game to get souls at a pretty awesome pace.

I have the impression that people aren't aware of a shortcut that is available by the first channeler AFTER Seath's prison.

When you step into the hallway where that channeler is, you can step across to where the stairs that rotate are. Step off and you'll land on a bookcase. Quickly heal before the sniper can shoot you. Step off the bookcase and run for the bonfire on the balcony.

You don't have to try to kill the channeler at that time and try to dodge the other channeler that's shooting at you.
