I'd never do anything to win in PVP in this.Fighting fair and properly is simply more enjoyable for both sides.Better for me losing playing properly than winning as a disrespectful try hard.I'd rather not stop being a decent human being just to win at games.

So it is not possible to be both respectful and competitive?

I didn't say that.I'd just think ganking and spamming expressions on a corpse or invading and hornet backstab fishing lone hosts is just horrible behaviour.

And it is, I'm just inclined to assume all PvP conversations to pertain to 1v1 dueling situations.

Well,as long as someone isn't being a douche about it,there is nothing wrong with trying to win.I simply feel strongly about douchiness because the small amount of players involved makes each fight more personal than other games do.

I've never cared for KDR in COD but last time I checked in MW2 I had around 1.7. While in some of the other games I've played, I only have around 1.1 or 0.98.

I kinda have to agree with him on this one, it seems like ******** (especially tolvo's 50 KD, which i hope is a typo, but still then in my opinion stupid)
your wrong. All one has to do to break 2.0 in CoD is know the when/where to fight and know how to aim. 3 bullets will kill, so if you shoot first, you probably win. People get good at shooting first by knowing the choke points/hiding places/lines of sight and hitting people from the side or behind when the can't even respond before they die, and by knowing where reinforcements are most likely to come from and positioning oneself to eliminate them or fleeing to repeat the process. Most people are bad at this, and thus become fodder for better

or smarter players, which is why k/d ratios can get so high despite the fast paced and chaotic nature of many shooters.

I was also asked my k/d. Should I lie to seem like I'm not engaging in a "pissing contest?"

In Bttlefield3, I have about 1.9. I mostly go for objectives in that game.

I don't know what you're attempting to communicate, so I don't know how to respond.

Most people who play CoD/halo are fairly reliable. Its not hard to know where most people will be, and where they will be looking, and where their team will look for you after you kill one, and victimise them based on these things.

The same is true of most shooters in my experience, and mmo's for that matter.

Arma 2 is an example of a true, realistic shooter. It's immense scale in every map you play on, as well as the sheer difficulty of things like piloting ships, and surviving bullet wounds makes for a truly difficult, yet immersive experience, much more than that of COD or Halo.

What I like abotu Halo is/was that I can kill with one shot to head with Sniper Rifle, or three shots if using Battle Rifle, or Pistol. But you still need to spray a full clip of Assault Rifle to get a kill. In CoD and similar games, it doesn't really matter where you aim, because you will die in 2-4 hits, so people just run around and spray like crazy.

It's also slower paced and doesn't feature killcam, or any similar feature, that I hate a lot, to the point of not playing any recent FPS games. Instead, it has a full game replays.

I can agree on that, I loved Halo 3. Any other Halo game after was bad to me. And any COD game after 4 was just terrible.

I actually resented that in Halo- I prefer it if you die faster in a shooter, then it relies less on skill and more on reactions and situations, and so it's easier to bridge the skill gap.

Though being an awful Halo player, I played a match with my friends and got 3 kills for 8 deaths.. I was actually happy with that silly I'm so bad at shooters it's almost ridiculous.

I find PC shooters easier, for some reason. Maybe it's because the sensitivity purely relies in your 'real' sensitivity, something that cannot be simulated in a console game. I despise COD'S twitch reflex nature, but, somehow, I'm quite good at twitch aiming.

My mouse cost me a good £15, so it's pretty decent. I don't get why people call gaming mouses 'gaming' mouses. To me, they're just more flat. Doesn't do too much.
