And just to clarify, the "Hermit" option is for those who feel they have passed their prime and retain a solid level of what they once were, however still retain a masterful level of knowledge on different weapons, builds, lore etc.

Are you a Master of Dark Souls?
Do you consider yourself a dark souls master? Or maybe even a grand master? Or does you skill surpass that of mortals and is of Deity status? Please tell me what you consider yourself and why. And please dont judge others as being arrogant for deeming them self a high status. Facts are facts, if you have played hundreds of hours of Dark Souls chances are you are extremely well skilled.
And just to clarify, the "Hermit" option is for those who feel they have passed their prime and retain a solid level of what they once were, however still retain a masterful level of knowledge on different weapons, builds, lore etc.

Re: Are you a Master of Dark Souls?
I am what you young-ins would call a hermit... I still am good at playing according to others however in my current state I deem myself a sh't player. I haven't played in months - started playing again today. Winning most matches I have been in - but that is less from my skill and more the lack of skill my opponents have. I also have hosted in the forest - I am using my usual 0 poise setups. A fellow messaged me that I have been his best fight in the forest this week and that it is good to see that good players haven't forsook the forest. I went 2-2 with him. He was running SKSh GScy SKSp and a pyro glove. I am using Notched whip OH, BSS and Iaito MH with either a oolacile cata OH or Pyro Glove OH.

Re: Are you a Master of Dark Souls?
I'm not comfortable calling myself a master of any sorts. I'm fine with being "a force to be reckoned with."
I just haven't fought enough of the "masters" to determine where I'm at.

Hell ya, I will! lol.
I thought being a veteran made you semi-pro, I guess not. I guess I'm semi-semi-pro....or Juhani. I always gave her dual blasters.

Re: Are you a Master of Dark Souls?
I consider myself a hermit. I know a lot about the game but I doubt my abilities qualify as veteran or a master. Anyone who fought me knows that I keep the wolf ring for it's poise raise, which I think is the reason I win most matches since I'm being stunlocked. Sure I can dish out moderate to op damage but I don't consider that skillful. Then again I never boast about myself to think about my "rank" in Dark Souls.

Re: Are you a Master of Dark Souls?
I'd consider myself a veteran since I rarely use a shield now that I know the timing of boss and monsters attacks. But when it comes to PvP I'm still a newbie XD.

Re: Are you a Master of Dark Souls?
I think I'm somewhere between novice and veteran. I win a little more then half my fights, but I have an OP build.
This is me. (Edit: I no longer use 2 WoGs. I know use WoG, SLB, and DMB)

Re: Are you a Master of Dark Souls?
Master implies that I know all there is to know, every moveset, every strategy, and every counter strategy. I clearly don't. Playtime-wise, I'm a veteran. Skill-wise, I'm probably slightly better than your average noob.

Re: Are you a Master of Dark Souls?
Veteran, as far as PVE goes I can do the whole game solo in around 8-9 hours without the master key, I can say I'm proud of that. I can't really say I'm a PVP veteran though, I win some and I lose some and I normally revolve around one or two different weapons when it comes to PVP.

following this idea, I'm a master. Got platinum on my PVE account and I have 8 PVP builds. But, I'm not expert like other people when it comes to PVP. I'm good, but I can get win streaks.
I don't understand hermit. Someone who was a Veteran or Up and now don't play so much?

Re: Are you a Master of Dark Souls?
I used to be able to go hundreds of invasions without dying once, I could easily run through the game in about four hours, and kill anyone who invaded my world. There was a point where in the forest I was basically undefeated killing gankers, even if they used glitches such as Tranquil Walk of Death, or buffing a Demon Spear with SLB.
If you were SL20 with appropriate gear and invaded my SL 88 toon, you'd probably win these days.
That's why I consider myself a hermit.
I used to be hot **** on the for-front of PvP and somewhat PvP, but these days I'm just a rusty old bucket of bolts.

I'm a veteran. I know what to do, and how to do it, but my execution falls flat. I'm no master. At all.

I would say somewhere upward of veteran, I have a lot of experience to fall back on and have learned how best to deal with almost everything I come across

I can't count myself as anything other than a veteran. I'm definetely not a noob and not a master in any sense of the word.

Re: Are you a Master of Dark Souls?
I suppose I'm a veteran because I've played the game a lot and I have the Platinum but that was more through sheer bloodymindedness and refusing to give up than skill. I haven't indulged in pvp enough to pass judgment on myself or boast about my prowess against other players.

I'm a veteran, I used to be good, but I just don't play regularly enough to be anything more than average at best.
